Lesson learnt today by my good self.

After lending someone £7 a few weeks ago and being ignored then said person asked for £11 today with promises I will pay you on Wednesday well I stood my ground and said no, she was why not? I said you still owe me £7

She soon shut up

I learnt a similar lesson with much more painful consequences.

I'm a generous soul most of the time so when a trusted friend asked to lend a sizeable sum, I thought nothing of it. I was well off at the time and had some spare cash.

Did I ever get it back despite several conversations and assurances? Did I fook. Lost a great friend and a good deal of money.

Never again.

I know someone like that. He makes you feel like you are robbing him for asking for your money back and eventually it gets so long since you lent it to him you forget all about it. Once he even offered the money back to me a year later and as I accepted it I casually remarked that I'd forgotten about it and he said, "Bollocks!"

One valuable life lesson, never mix money with pleasure or friends as it always turns out badly.

I lent an ex £2500 which I've never seen again. I only lend money to my brother, we have a floating £100 which gets lent backwards and forwards.

I only ask to borrow from Mum.

The land of grey peas and bacon

My parents are the only one I borrow from. I have lost large amounts of money because I was too trusting... Not any more... I am generous though if I got it.. I will share it.

id only lend out money to my closest friends and if they where in such a position they needed to ask then i would give them it as they have never asked before. The only person i lend to knowing i will never see it again is my son but hey ho, im the daft one for giving it him
