Is there anyone who prefers to be at work than home?

To be honest work has become a safe place for me.

Routine, structure and people to socialise with and talk with rather than me just talking to the dog!!

This is not a pity post as I am happy with things like this

I see work as a necessary evil

I don't hate being there, but wouldn't say I'd rather be there than at home

I think I can relate to this Biker Jack. Recently separated from wife of 8 years so its just me and the cat at home. Work is the only safe place, I steer well clear of family aswell.

In a few weeks we have a company away day that includes archery, rifle and clay pigeon shooting which I'm looking forward to.

I used to, I'd go to work early relax with a coffee, I loved the structure & keeping busy has always done my mind well.

Now I work from home & it's hard! I don't like it at all.

I (m of the mf) work from home. It’s not for everyone as can be very open ended and isolating at time, but gives me structure to the day and the kids are at school. Also, I get to have fuck breaks with the mrs which breaks up the day nicely!!

I like my job and I just see it as I need to be here for a few hours to pay the next holiday!

I like both, but I prefer being at home. I'd go stir crazy without having to go to work, but home is my safe space.

I love my job, although it's mentally draining at times.

One day a month I get to WFH which I am certainly ready for, not something I could do all the time though,as I do like the structure and routine of going to work.

Home is my safe place and I like to shut the door on the world, once I'm home...

If I have more than a few days off I tend to wish I was at work but not sure if that is preferring to be there

No way. I work because I have to. I’d have no problem never working again if I could. I enjoy my work but I’d have enough to fill my time without working. I wouldn’t be bored.

Ask me another day I didn’t even get in the door this morning before the manager came up with an attitude 😂

I work hybrid, definitely prefer the days as home as they’re way more productive. More distractions in the office

I am fully remote with my job, go back to the office once every 6 weeks-ish.

If I could be hybrid with 1 or 2 days in the office and the rest at home I’d be happy, but house prices in the south as a single person put paid to that idea.

For me it’s a compromise I make which works because I’m out the house a lot with hobbies and training (and the occasional attempt at a social life) but I couldn’t do it if life was quieter.

I’m glad you have something that works for you OP
