Hi there here goes i have recently become a member of the single club i am 64 male from Oldham just outside of manchester and i am wondering if anyone can help me in my search for places, groups, that would maybe give me the opportunity to try and find someone of the opposite sex a way of meeting other than endlessly messaging profiles and getting little response i dont mean to sound like i am winging i know you all have individual preferences that your looking for i am just wanting a little help and hopefully getting pointed in the right direction .

And try Tai Chi classes.

Have you tried any clubs?

I'm not too sure what ones are local to you OP, but have a look in the club review section on Fab and hopefully you will find a few to choose from

You’ve not said if you want to date someone or meet them just for sex

Either way 99.9% is done via online now. Once you’ve got passed the scammers and the ones who want money or the fakes or anything else there genuinely are nice people on here and on dating apps.

That said making yourself more social, the local pub, any clubs or societies or just being seen in places where people mix, is a great way to meet people.

Friendship first and see where it may lead

Save your money on the online dating sites, they are very clever enticing you to join , showing lots of messages waiting for you etc etc then when you pay there's nothing.

Get out and about local clubs etc , do it the old way ,not this online way. To many men for not enough women ,not just here but all online dating sites. Good luck, I wish you well.

Look up singles holidays OP. I recently met a very attractive single lady while we were on the same cruise (Norwegian Fjords), and spent a very nice time together! She told me about a singles holiday she had also been on, where there were 23 ladies, and get this; 1 single guy! So a bit like Fab, but in reverse!

Just get yourself out there, and try lots of new, different things. You'll meet someone when you're not looking for them
