Is there any hidden gems of movies similar to The Beach with Leonardo di Caprio backpacking through Thailand?

Absolutely loved that movie!

Films with beaches in them? Or Vietnam? Or Leonardo?

OP have you seen ‘A walk in the woods’? It’s about Bill Bryson hiking the 2,000 mile Appalachian Trail with a friend.

I liked it, nice story.

I watched this movie that was similar, can’t remember what it was called but it was basically these two girls playing with this cup & they were doing….. come to think of it, it was nothing like “the beach” at all.

Although I wouldn’t class it as a backpacking movie The Curious Case of Benjamin Button with Brad Pitt has a similar type of vibe. Getting out there and just living.

Not a film but a YouTube channel called c90adventures (all one word) British guy very funny, converts a mini jeep to travel 1000 miles in the US.

The episodes are quite long on average 35 -45 minutes. During one episode he has to make it amphibious, but it’s not just about him but the people who help with the build and those he meets along the way.

There's a rather prominent beach scene in Saving Private Ryan

I loved this book, I was backpacking in

Thailand in 1996 and it was one of those books passed around backpackers.

Not seen the movie but very mixed reviews

By you

A perfect Getaway is a pretty good film with that sort of vibe of backpacking through woodland/jungle/beach desert island type scenario

You should read the book and see how it compares. I wasn't a huge fan of the ending of the movie, but it was still a great movie. And I'm sure you'll be able to relate to it as well as seen as you was there around the time it was based 🤘🏼

I watched a movie the other day the titles not coming to me yet but people went to a remote beach through a rock archway and they couldn't return through that archway and they aged rapidly on the beach ,I'll come back when I have the title .
