Are we all just miserable

A lot of threads talk about people not knowing why they are here , how crap it is, how it’s not working for them and just bemoaning about here and the quality of the people on here or the quality of the forums

So my honest question is why are you here then

If something isn’t working for you for whatever reason be it here or anywhere in life are you better off to just leave or change an approach

For those that say they are here because they have made some good friends I saw a meme once that said

“If we were considered friends you’d have my number, not just my internet details”

For me anything in my life has to give as much as it takes.

I just think, and only my opinion, if something affects you that much and can be negative to your mental health I know that for me it’s time to make changes

I can never quite tell whether the moaning and complaining on here is coming from a sense of entitlement, or attention seeking. I usually just pass on engaging with it.

I am here for the ladies. I like the ladies. The ladies are good. I am certainly not miserable.

I think the whole “I am miserable” thing is tedious - my view is people just do it because everyone else is doing it and they think it makes them popular/in with the in crowd. It’s just yawnsville.

Never miserable, I'm mostly happy in life.

I do agree though all the miserable, whingy, look at me, complaining, bullying or attention seeking threads get right on my tits when you see them everyday.

Just makes you wonder why people get themselves so highly strung in life.

Thankfully my Fab experience never comes from the forum… they are two very separate entities for me. I come on here when I am bored.

But curiously enough, I think right now the forum is ok compared to what it’s been in past years!

But I suppose the original post is about those who whinge about “no one meets on this site” or “I paid my fiver, I should be chest-high in clunge right now” … well, that is as old as time itself and it will carry on… getting wound up about that isn’t good either.

I have occasional miserable days where my mood sinks for some reason. Could be something someone has said on fab but it’s more likely to be work (or being invited to leave the swimming pool) and I try not to take it out on others.

I guess for many it’s unrealistic expectations when they set out on their fab journey, some will be attention seekers and others are just life’s mood hoovers that will moan about anything.

I don’t know the psychology behind it, but wouldn’t mind betting it’s partly venting and partly a last ditch and very public attempt to have someone announce they are in fact worthy of bouncy bouncy lots of fun. Can’t imagine that ever actually happens.

Still, it’s entertaining for those of us who are plodding along quite happily in our own lane.

I get sex (occasionally I’m not winning any medals) the forums are often amusing or informative (or both) and I’ve chatted with many people I would never have encountered in the rest of my life. I haven’t seen any homophobia or transphobia recently, no one is trolling anyone (currently) and my expectations on here are certainly realistic even a little pessimistic.

If this site made me feel bad about myself, or it made me want to make someone else feel that way, I’d leave.

I think the issue is some have a huge sense of entitlement when on here.

"I'm on here so sex should be on a plate and god forbid if people say no to me" kind of attitude

Followed by no one wants me, instead of becoming part of the lifestyle and all it has to offer and quite frankly cheering the F up.

I was at a seminar today where part of the conversation was about loneliness and the fact men don't always look after themselves or their male friends as well as they could.

Processing that has made me interpret slightly differently than usual the question you pose.

I think this site and forum can provide an easing of loneliness or a community that does genuinely ask how people are or care about their wellbeing. Even if it's online only and you don't have a phone number to go with the username it doesn't mean it's not a valuable relationship to those individuals that form the patchwork of their lives and maybe help them look after themselves better.

As for should people just go away or give up rather than moaning... Yes many probably should because they are just annoying people who aren't seriously interested in the people on this site... But maybe some of the complainers are a bit lonely, were maybe hoping this site would provide connections they seek but cannot find. Perhaps they are struggling but don't know a more eloquent way to express it? And maybe once in a while we should think about if that person is in need of a hug rather than a stern talking to??

“heaven knows I’m miserable now”

😔

I think there’s an element of those who like the social (albeit online) aspect of this site, certainly quite a few forum regulars and those who are expressly ‘not meeting’. There’s no doubt there some very lonely men who are desperate for female contact BUT - they don’t try, don’t use advice, sabotage themselves by being angry and bitter and believe that this place is just a sex hookup site and are entitled.

I always ask - are you here to get sex with women or to be part of the swinging community and culture? If they want sex and aren’t having any luck with messages then I recommend dating sites; where their profiles are vanilla, faces, clothes on, possibly holding up a fish - definitely no endless dick pics and allows their personality to come across better

Fab is and always has been a hobby and nothing more.

I stopped sending messages back before covid arrived and haven't met anyone new in more than 4 years.

I don't use any part of the site apart from the forums and I dip in and out when I feel like it.

I used to spend an hour on average each day in the forums but now it's probably half of that.

I have made very good friends here, some of whom are no longer on the site so that isn't keeping me here.

I use it as a distraction now and again but while I've had some negative experiences over all the years I've been here, 90 percent of my time on fab had been very positive almost in spite of the best efforts of some.

A small part of me still logs in and comments on the forums just to remind those who told me they would end my fab journey that they really need to up their game.

I’m never miserable. I can’t see the point in it . Of course there are days that aren’t so good as other days but you just have to deal with it.

Obviously if a major thing has happened that’s very sad you will be upset but there’s no point in being miserable over nothing.
