Ravers Raving

I'm sure I've posted one of these before, unless it was somewhere else and many years ago now. 🤔 Who knows? Lucky my brain works half the time. 😂

I figured instead of highjacking another thread and flooding it with Old Skool rave tunes, it would be more polite to start a separate one.

Just a place to share memories and tunes, from your raving days. Even better if they're still going!

I've been to see quite a few DJs the past year and had a wicked time, sweating my arse off dancing like nobody is watching.

Each night, there have been amazing tunes, colourful characters, memories created that will never be forgotten.

It's also been extra special because my sister has been coming out with me, for the first time ever. She absolutely loved it, danced in front of everyone and is very eager to attend more nights.

I'm one proud big brother. 😁

I absolutely love the rave scene. Always have since I was a little kid. As soon as I heard Hardcore, I fell in love big time.

I'll never love anyone or anything as much as I love Hardcore and other assorted rave music. One might think that to be sad, but it's unconditional and Hardcore loves me back plenty. 😉

The fact that I'm listening to a Slipmatt mix instead of sleeping is a testament to that love lol.

So, feel free to share your favourite DJs and tracks, maybe some wild times throwing shapes? I've rambled enough for now, otherwise I'll be here all night. 😂

I loved hardcore in my teens and early 20s, then transitioned to rock, about a year ago a fella I worked with informed me all the old skelter, vibealite etc sets were on soundcloud and as such I rekindled my passion for hardcore, particularly love vibes and lively, Scott Brown and rat pack

Haha, evidence of a banging night!

Sadly, I missed the golden era of raving at places like Bagleys or Sanctuary. Mostly due to location (Cornwall at the time) and lack of funds to travel oop norf. But definitely made up for it then and since.

Don't plan on stopping any time soon, it's just too good. 😆

Still, the music is very much alive and kicking. Mark EG and M-Zone at NYE were incredible. I never sweat so much. 😅

Think I enjoy it more now, to be fair. Not quite so wasted as I was in my late teens and 20's, so I remember more of what went on 😬 lol.

All cool but I'm too old for that on a regular basis lol..

Maybe 2 or 3 times a year now

Yeah, lots of people I knew went from Hardcore to Rock or Metal. Seems to be an easy transition.

Ah, that's great you're enjoying it again. 😄 Man, I listen to it almost daily. Never fails to lift my spirits, cheer me up and get me dancing and singing around the room lol.

Yes! They do an incredible set, to be fair. Their tapes were always good.

Scott Brown is easily the Godfather of Hardcore, no contest. Man is legend in his own right. I love his mixes from the Bonkers series, where he switches to Hard Techno, Gabber and whatnot near the end. Just pure filth. 🤤

Love the Ratpack guys as well. Again, their sets always top notch. True entertainers and Old Skool legends.

I feel ya there. I don't go constantly, because I need extensive recovery time nowadays. 😆 Especially raving for 5-7 hours straight.

I find it so hard to stop and take a breather. Generally have a few seconds during a quiet bit of a track, then straight back to it. Absolutely caught up in the tunes lol.

We're hoping for one more before seeing Dougal on NYE. Maybe a harder night, something like Hardstyle. Or I do love some Hard Trance/Techno.

Unless you’re from the north east or certain parts of Scotland you won’t know any of the stuff I used to rave to. I think the only well known stuff I can think of was by QFX.

Cornwall was great in the 90s/00s. Best days of my life was living in the centre of Newquay aged 19/20, just living for the weekend

L2 had some good nights and can't forget Colliseum either!

Also Judge Jules, Matt May, Dave Pearce, Nathan Dawe, Rob Tissera, Tall Paul, Seb Fontaine.

Banging weekend!!!

Great to mix these weekends with swingers partying too

We go to Egg in London occasionally with friends.
