Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth

Small Intestine Fungal Overgrowth

The small bowel is not where fermentation is meant to take place. The Larger bowel has the room and space to do this.

Gas (Hydrogen, methane and other gases) builds up in the small intestine and stays put, or escape through the stomach as trapped burps.

This gives a 6 months pregnant look, which is is bad for a woman, but looks worse on a man.

Even under weight people can have a bulging belly. This is the root cause of IBS and longterm heartburn and even dysfunctional breathing. The post Xmas dinner feeling all day every day: not fun.

Ooh, tell me more. I've only just heard about SIBO/SIFO this weekend, the GERD/IBS, which has been caused by it I've had for too long.

Yeah I've been treated for it before and judging on my GERD and gallbladder going bonkers, it's probably back with a vengeance. Problem is being taken seriously by the quacks.

They think mine is caused by gastric bypass surgery. I've now got malnutrition and they think sibo caused it as when they gave me the antibiotics I started to gain some weight but now I've got the stomach cramps and weight loss back again

It's a simple 1/2hr test if that... whether they give you antibiotics is a different matter as they kill near enough all your gut microbes.

You would be better taking a good Probiotic, to boost your good bacteria, not an anti-biotic that will kill your micro-biome. Also avoiding processed food as much as possible, ie, If it contains more than 3 ingredients you have in your kitchen, try not to eat it. In time... your good bacteria colonys will grow larger than the bad ones that are causing the overgrowth.

Good luck and stick at it, it's not a quick fix.

They usually use Co-amoxiclav for SIBO.

"Have a vindaloo, that’ll get things moving."

One of the symptoms of SIBO is excess gas and some people have diarrhoea, so maybe best avoiding this advice

Nonsense, vindaloos solve everything. They should be available on prescription.
