What’s the most emotional you’ve felt to a cinema film you have watched?

Don’t shoot me down for my top 3 and not in order..it’s a personal list and how it made you react.

Saving Private Ryan the opening scene landing on the beaches was one of the best war scenes I’ve watched, brutal action and caught the moment brilliantly

Another Spielberg

Jurassic Park the first scenes of the dinosaurs was just breathtaking

Avengers Endgame just a great popcorn moment when they did assemble and Roger’s lifts the hammer.

I never really get emotional during films but Enter the Void left me feeling very...odd.

Kung fu Hustle had me bent over in laughter when I saw it at the cinema, I had no idea what to expect from it.

Any film that involved dogs, otherwise I'm dead inside.

NORWAY Wherever I lay my hat

I watched a film called Nobody Knows about a woman who abandoned her kids. I couldn't stop crying for hours after that

The Continental

Top Gun Maverick - it was everything I hoped for when the sequel was finally announced.

Endgame - I really, REALLY struggled to not have something in my eyes while watching the demise of Tony Stark.

Jaws - my favourite film, ever. I’d never seen it on a big screen until a few years ago when the local cinema brought it back for a few days.

Somewhere In The Ether…

I remember feeling a combination of disbelief, shock and downright anger whilst watching The Last Jedi.

What an absolutely atrocious and insulting pile of crap that was!

Top Gun Maverick. Goosebumps when it started. By the end I was just confused. How HOW is a sequel better than the original?! Witchcraft.

I'll have a think but definitely with you on the last two.... the cheer when cap lifted Mjollnir is something not forgotten...

Although interestingly another cinema best moment also included Chris Evans in the latest deadpool...

Ohhhhh and blades walk in during that movie too.

East London

Last Feelings back when I was a teenager, cheering the terminally ill teenager Diego on in a swimming race.

Left the cinema in floods of tears.

I let out an audible "yes!" when Erik finally punches the main bully in Evil. It's a Swedish film from 2003 and well worth a watch.

My favourite by someone else is when Dark Water (2002) was playing in a sold out screen and a guy shouted "oh no!" when the big end reveal was about to happen. The whole cinema started laughing

During scenes when battles are about to commence between two armies. With the rising music and tension building. Both sides ready and eager to spill blood for strength and honour.

Part of me, the base tribalistic animal that still dwells within, feels as if I'm there. I often feel an adrenaline rush, during those types of scenes. Usually from medieval or fantasy films.

Thankfully I know that I'm extremely impressionable and I get quite invested in cinematic media (the Snowpiercer series has really got me feeling all manner of emotions at the moment) and that I wouldn't act on those feelings.

Still, it's fascinating that at our base levels, we still experience such things and can be immersed entirely by visuals and sounds.

Schindler’s List - not sure you could describe it as a best reaction but there was silence throughout, audible crying, then nobody left their seat until the credits had fully finished and lights came on. You could hear a pin drop.

I was coerced into watching A Star is Born. There must have been a high pollen count up here as my eyes were a bit itchy and watering up. Strange for January I know.

Spartacus will always get me going too.

Somewhere In The Ether…

LOTR: Return Of The King - There were quite a few emotional scenes in that and I remember sitting in the cinema with people audibly bawling all around me, especially during the final scenes.

One chap was making such a noise that he obviously became embarrassed and removed himself from the cinema completely(!!)

Me? Well….will an earnest plea of conjunctivitis cut it? 🥺
