Most of the traditional public hammams are same sex and nude bathing. Tend to be cheaper, more basic, but not really aimed at tourists.

Then you have the private hammams/ spas which do the fancy packages

There are several really good public hammams which cater more for tourists looking for a more traditional experience. Usually English speaking staff there to assist and explain the routine. Male friend tried hammams Mouassine and was very impressed. I've visited the women's bathing area there and everyone was wonderful.
