... got up at 09:30h

Still had time to give Mr Hot Date a HJ before he had to get up and get ready to go to his folks

Had a light breakfast of scrambled egg on toast with smoked salmon.

Took the duck out of the fridge to warm up to room temperature. Put the Asti in the fridge to chill.

Spent a bit of time on here to catch up.

Now I am off to get ready to take the pooch out for a walk while the sun is still out and the air is crisp - my kind of mornings!

When we come back, I shall pop the Asti and make Bucks Fizz to drink while I nibble at the starters, and the duck will be in the oven.

I shall spend the rest of the day alternating between food, drink, snooze, TV/DVD etc...

Bliss!!! My kind of stress free Christmas Day!

Merry Christmas everyone, have a good day, and don't forget to find time for some sexy fun - I had mine earlier already!

Sounds lovely!

I was up at eight with the little fella. Watched him open his pressies, bacon butties about ten, watched a funny film. Put turkey in and now in a nice hot bubbly bath while son and ex play boys games!

Love it without all the fuss!

Best wishes to everybody and hope you all have a lovely day xxx

I have started on the Bucks Fizz and finished my starter, after going out for a nice walk with the pooch.

Duck is cooking in the oven, currently watching the Queen's speech.

Lovely day so far!

Does anyone know how long we all slept last night ?

I know it's normally around 4 months, depending on how many people have been well behaved and I know that Santa doesn't like to freeze time for too long, just enough to get round the world and deliver all the pressies then get back to the workshop, but last night seemed a little longer than previous years and I wondered if that had anything to do with global warming.

I tried checking the earths position in relation to the stars the other night and checked it again today but as always the planet shift is marginal, I suppose you would have to make the earth freeze for a lot longer for it to show up on my little graph.

Anyway Santa did a great job ane we enjoyed our extended sleep while he went about his business

Spending today alone as I do every second year - now don’t get me wrong I'm not complaining - I've cooked a leg of lamb, delivered presents, shared a drink with friends and have been watching some old well loved classics waiting for friend to arrive but my breath has just been taken away but my neighbour’s generosity and thoughtfulness.

Knowing I’m spending xmas alone they’re after dropping out a full dinner with all the trimmings along with a bottle – whats special about that you may well ask – The special bit is they’re after going to all that trouble and cooking a special meal for me, they even coordinated another family into cooking the pigs in blankets! as they’re a devout Islamic family who wouldnt normally celebrate in this way. They were worried about me feeling lonely and left out on this special day.

Its our family and friends who make today special

The duck was lovely, and plenty left to make fried rice and other dishes.

Making soup with the carcass and it smells lovely!

Had the Tiramisu for dessert, resting now watching High Society, and oogling at the wonderful evening gowns of bygone years!

Probably pop a DVD on later as there is not much on TV later

Have a good evening peeps!

Overall, we've had nice day, got up at 09:00 had scrambled egg with smoked salmon, then opened our presents, had lunch, visited some friends this afternoon, and now home to relax.

I was a little apprehensive about today, for the last 18 years we've had Kid's mum with us for Christmas, sadly, due to her passing earlier this year, I was concerned how Kid would cope, apart from some tears earlier, he's managed much better than anticipated.

Glad to hear Kid is ok.

Christmas can be very hard for those who have lost their loved ones.

I did make a toast to my late partner, and felt my eyes going a bit moist. It's the second Christmas without him, and it still hurts. He's watching over us I am sure, to make sure we are up the right way. Bless him!

I was thinking how much he would have loved the duck, as it was soooooo tasty!

And I missed his roast potato - I just can't make them as good as his, so I did not make any, just pan-fried some parsnips and stir-fried some veg to complete the plate. Very tasty!

Kid being vegetarian, would've passed on the duck, it wouldn't have been wasted tho, I'd have his share! Roast potatoes and parsnips are so yummy
