Most likely they don’t want to cause issue at home so doing stuff out the normal wife’s pick up on

Married men only struggle to get out when their wife notices an unusual reason.

Going to meet a 'man about a dog' on a Sunday morning when you usually stay in with the papers is bound to cause questions.

It’s hard one really because people don’t understand situations. Like a guy might love his wife and family but due to health she is no longer able to sexually pleasure so a guy might just want that but still remain with his wife

Probably needs to do all the chores!

The worst is when the wife is away, if you haven't done all the household shit and done a million extra jobs that you have put off for a year, clearly you are up to no good.

Today (Sunday), despite doing the normal chores (second load of laundry, first hung up, dishwasher emptied, kitchen floor mopped, hoovering to do), I have also used the blower to get rid of all the leaves from the front drive, brushed in kiln dried sand in between pavers on half the drive, and finally sat down for a coffee. Will need to finish the drive in a bit (unless the lover can come round and do it for me so we can then get a 40 second shaggy in - I hear from Brucey that's possible).

Bound to be questioned as to what did I get up to with my w/end.

Where is Shag when you need him to be asking "what are your Sunday plans?"

Who is this 'shaggy,? Other than from Scooby Doo obviously.

Oh and obviously I had meant 'shag' not shaggy (except where I deliberately meant Shaggy as in Scooby-Doo.

At a guess it isn't about not being allowed out, more that she may think she is in a loving relationship were you discuss what the other is doing and is not aware that she isn't in that type of relationship as he is trying to arrange meets while she is out.

He would have to lie if she asked so it is easier to go out when she is out...or he had an attack of conscience and decided not to to do it.

If this is an open situation where his wife was aware of and okay with the meet and made him cancel because her plans fell through, that's just plain weird and inconsiderate.

If he's cheating, maybe he has previously been caught and that's why he doesn't have much freedom. Or maybe he just knows he's not very good at sneaking about and lying. It's entirely possible he has no issue going out for normal reasons.

I can't personally imagine messing about with someone who's cheating on a partner and then complaining when the pesky wife gets in the way of their plans. How dare she want to know what her husband is up to. The audacity.

It’s not hard to figure out why he can’t get away to cheat without a good reason.

On a related note though - how do some of you guys cope with wives who don’t let them out for any reason?

A few months back my mates wife locked him out the house because we had a beer after work. He got back at 6pm to find the door locked and she told him to stay at his mums. Another colleague’s wife refused to eat her dinner until he came home, and was sending him crazy texts all night about how she was starving herself until he returned and that he will be responsible if she gets “sick from starvation”.

Then just this Friday I was out with my best mate and his gf was texting him all kinds of crazy things about “you must hate me if you’re going out”. “Bet you’re enjoying being with your friends more than me”… this was all at around 5.30pm, we’d only been out for 30 mins.

Is this the new normal? None of my relationships have been like that, fortunately

Haha I’ve had a few mates that were the same as that mate one lad we were on the bus to morpeth for a night out and one had scratches all ower his face and I asked what happened and basically he told his lass he was going out with his mates and she never said Nowt she just started cleaning at his face. Another lad was “allowed” out but he had to go home about 4 times to “check in” with her between going home she rang him countless times haha

If you never questioned where your men went then that's quite strange or maybe neither of you give a shit.

I would assume in a normal 2 way relationship it's normal not to just walk out without saying a word.

Maybe it's just a convient excuse as he just don't want to meet you..

That's madness. I personally enjoy a night to myself when he goes the pub or whatever. The only thing that ever used to annoy me was when he used to insist he would be back for dinner and I'd be left waiting and he'd show up hours later. Now we've just agreed that if he's going out after work that we both sort our own dinner out and it's much easier.

None of that sounds normal or acceptable behaviours..

Whilst what you've said sounds odd, controlling etc there's always two sides and the length of the individual relationships might suggest that despite such behaviour the blokes are fine?

Might be one offs..

Sometimes they’re so paranoid that they’re going to get caught that they restrict themselves in times ir places they can go etc

Some others the wife is literally tracking them on their phones all day and they call an unhealthy number of times to check where they are… I have witnessed many of those calls.

If you are unable to trust your partner /spouse just don't be with them...and also a woman can be jealous, insecure, possessive or emotionally immature for no reason. If your immediate reaction to a question like this is that it's most likely because the man is unfaithful (although the OP mentioned simply men going out - nothing to do with cheating) than you are insecure.

I was in an abusive relationship when I was younger...and this woman was so jealous and insecure that a random piece of hair on my jacket ment I was cheating...from her perspective random acts don't occur...it can't be that you're walking down the street on a windy day, and a piece of hair from someone that scratched their head just unexpectedly falls on you...or that you just take a seat on public transportation and you don't notice a piece of hair on it (that probably belonged to the previous person using that seat) and just attaches on you...no, banal random circumstances like that never exist to them - no, you are guilty! To this day I'm checking if there are pieces of hair anywhere I seat (although I'm not in a relationship) 😶. And here I am on fab reading comments saying that women only behave like that if they have a solid reason of suspicion... Please "respectfully" shut the F...up and miss me with that bullshit

My ex was worse. He used to check my knickers when he got in late at night, in case I'd had someone in while he was out (probably snagging his bit on the side).

If someone flashed their lights or beeped their car horn outside my house that was obviously my bit on the side signalling me.

My ex was worse. He used to check my knickers when he got in late at night, in case I'd had someone in while he was out (probably snagging his bit on the side).

If someone flashed their lights or beeped their car horn outside my house that was obviously my bit on the side signalling me.

"Morning love, where you off to all spruced up and smelling nice?

Oh I noticed the pubes you left in the bath for me to clean up.

How long will you be, I'm doing a nice lamb roast for 3.

Don't be late.

Lamb roast at 3.00, that gives me time to shave, shower and spruce up. See you then. Mwah xx"

Great, where are you telling your wife you're going?

No it's not prison,

But its hard to explain to a wife that they're going out to shag another wonan I imagine.

There must be only so many excuses they can use to go out on a weekend.

If you're choosing to meet married men, you're taking the risk that they won't be able to get wmaway I'm afraid.

"If you are unable to trust your partner /spouse just don't be with them...and also a woman can be jealous, insecure, possessive or emotionally immature for no reason.

He wanted to feel better about cheating. He even made me divorce him. Drove me there to the solicitors to make sure I went through with it.

Oh I had that as well...not just check them visually, but she even smelled my underwear a few times, to make sure there's no scent of another woman. It got so bad that even a woman looking at me triggered her...

I could go on about all the things a paranoid partner does, but I don't want to totally derail the thread.

These are reasons a married man can't get out of the house. Although, in this case, the wife has good reason to be paranoid.

I personally don't think being paranoid in those circumstances is the best approach...and regardless if your partner is cheating or being dishonest, expressing that by being possessive and controlling will only add fuel to the fire...we can't control other people- only our actions. If I think my partner is being dishonest, I will continue to be observant and vigilant (the truth will eventually come out -it always does)

"If this is an open situation where his wife was aware of and okay with the meet and made him cancel because her plans fell through, that's just plain weird and inconsiderate.

The audacity."

Just be honest with the wife and have agreements in place before you make arrangements, if there is no agreement then you don’t do it!

Once the seed of doubt has been planted in their minds (in the spouse who is being cheated on) it is nearly impossible to take it away.

So the guys may think they’re being very clever, with their burner phones, their clever excuses, etc. But the Mrs probably knows everything but is holding fire for whatever reason. Kids, finances, whatever.

As I said before, it is hell to live with. On both sides.

In all fairness to the wives, out of general conversation if someone you live with is going out you’re going to ask where they’re off to. That doesn’t have to be inquisitorial. It’s normal conversation.

Plus if there are chores and childcare, it’s not common to just come and go as you please - “sure, I’ll mind the kids all day, you fuck off out and I’ll clean and sort dinner. Have fun.”

Men who are lying and cheating need reasonable, cast iron excuses that don’t get them found out. In reality, this isn’t very achievable so many men either get plans scuppered last minute, get found out or chicken out hence the flakiness.

"Married men only struggle to get out when their wife notices an unusual reason.

Going to meet a 'man about a dog' on a Sunday morning when you usually stay in with the papers is bound to cause questions.

Do people still read the papers?

My dad does.

My Dad does too "

Being married (despite having permission and veris to prove it) are often a reason I’m given that a female is not interested, many say that don’t want liars and cheats, but even more seem to not want the truth and honesty!! lol
