Meeting for a social !!

When i arrange a meet for a social i tend to try and go half way between the guy and myself.

Now there is a lovely country pub which is ideal for this, the only thing is that i have used this place on several occasions now. We always meet in the car park and go in together. It makes me wonder if they are on to something because the barmaids smile gets bigger every i go in there and they are almost putting my drink on the bar as i enter the pub.

I was chatting to another guy today who wants a social meet and yes you guessed it he himself mentioned a meet at that same pub, it just made me laugh so much i had to explain why !!

How about you lot, do you use the same place a lot of the time or do you move around???

We always use the same hotel. It's a very small hotel and we have used it many times. We are going there twice in May. I'm sure they know what we're doing , but they are always friendly so it doesn't really bother us.

As a lot of my social meets happen when I'm on my travels - I have used the same places several times!

But as they're not local to me and I don't use them for any other purpose - I've no worry if there's any knowing looks or the odd bit of banter with staff.

I get more curious looks and smiles at the hotels I tend to use regularly. But it's more amusing than anything else!

little house on the praire

I dont do social meets before the event but if i did and went to the same place it wouldnt worry me in the least. You could be a business woman meeting clients. Its not the staffs business

There is a particular bar in a large, well-known shopping mall 'but a stones-throw from me' where I almost have my own bar stool for socials either off here, or when I was on 'Loads'a Haddock'.

After me turning up with three different women as many times in one week, the bar tender (always the same guy!) learned rather quickly that discretion was the better part of getting a nice, large tip at the end of the evening.....

May I suggest a visit to Timpson's Shoe Repairs and order yourself one of those nice little brass plaques they do, saying something like "Hot Ruby's Place" ..

I use the same coffee shop in a large shopping centre not too far from me. I have even had more than one meet in the same day!

Fortunately the staff don't seem to pay too much attention - it helps that there is more than one seating area so im not under the staffs eye while chatting/making friends.

And if i get a no show i can do a little light shopping then be home in ten mins or so.
