Vitamins. Do they work for you?

I take a mix of multivitamins & iron, vitamin D & C also a potassium for heart health. Since taking these regularly I’ve not really suffered a cold (if so it didn’t last long) felt more awake and remember things better.

What do you take and do you feel it works. Be good to here from the guys if anything you take helps in bed? Not including viagra lol.

I take vitamin D. I don't notice any difference to the way I feel but I do it for my general health

I've been taking either multivitamins or vitamin c in particular and it's been really good at keeping away colds. I also had a poor complexion and I started to drink green tea with lemon. Its working well so far.

Not sure if it helps in bed, but Zinc is essential for healthy sperm production. and does help resolve geographic tongue, which I guess does help in bed……

I was told I should take some to bump up some slight deficiencies I had in my bloods, but I can't say I've noticed any real difference since starting to take them probably a year ago 🤷‍♂️

I would have said the same once upon a time. As you get older you start to care about your health more.

I didn’t notice anything straight away but over time I’ve noticed less and milder colds, better memory (which has always been questionable for me)

So no I’ll say not. Looking for over vitamins they may help now. Live life and live it long and healthy

A lot of them do but vitamin D is one that we all need apparently.

I know that women like Angela Rippon and Jan Leeming take a specific range of vitamins came supplements and they're doing pretty well I'm their 70s. So maybe there's something in it

I've suffered from sore joints for the last couple of years but since I started taking tumeric and glucosamine I've noticed a huge difference.

I was advised to take vitamin D and magnesium as part of long covid treatment but can't say I've seen much benefit.

I'm currently taking myo-inositol amongst other vitamins (it's two a day, multi). I've been taking it for about two months so far and yes, it's working for me. Not having debilitating periods is... well it's lovely. I think it's working and is more than rather expensive pee.

I can get very low in iron, potassium and vit D and don't feel well when I get low so yes taking those vitamins help me.

I don't take any supplements, but should probably take some vitamin D. Touch wood, I haven't been ill for ever either, so the lack of vitamin supplements doesn't seem to be doing me any harm on that front.

Whether I would be healthier and more vital if I started taking them I don't know...

If you don't get them from your food intake, then they are essential!

If you are lacking in some you will likely be more susceptible to illness - but equally too much of others can be dangerous, or if you're body's storage id full, you'll just pee them out

If you are healthy and eat a balanced diet then yes. That *at best*.

The vitamin D thing is an exception if you lack dietary sources and sunlight on (pale) skin. I'm fair, outdoorsy, and don't cover up too much () so am happy without - never tested low for it.

I've taken various supplement's over the years but usually when my diet is not good. Spoken to many doctors about these and their general suggestions are:-

Taking vitamin supplements can be beneficial in specific situations—such as when correcting deficiencies, during pregnancy, or when dietary intake is limited—but for most people with a balanced diet, they may not be necessary. Overuse or improper use of supplements can be harmful, so it's important to consult with a healthcare provider before starting any new supplement routine.

Also know that to much Iron can be very toxic so you should always consult your doctor first.

Vitamins C, D, Magnesium, Turmeric, Cod Liver Oil, Chronitin etc - rarely get a cold, been told it helps the joints. Take anything legal if there is a positive benefit. They appear to work for me

I've been taking Wellman Vitabiotics Heath & Vitality multivitamins and minerals for over ten years and also supplementing my iron intake (Holland & Barrett).

I don't notice any difference — and that's the whole point: I feel normal (more or less).
