One for the ladies... sorry gents.

How good are you at DIY (and I don't mean of the sexual stuff)

This past year I've been knocking down walls, plasterboarding, general DIY etc

Pdg.

I did a plumbing course a few years ago... And a furniture making course.

I'm a fabulous wallpaper-er and pretty mean with a sledge hammer. I've assisted my builder with things like fitting loft hatches, window openings, lintels etc...

I've also done some pointing, but that definitely not my forte!

I'm OK. I renovated my house with my ex husband and we didn't have the money to get people in, so it was a case of just getting stuck in. I'm most proud of my fireplace, which I opened up and restored. The other stuff is adequate, but not the prettiest

Fine at painting. Awesome at flatpack assembly. Terrible and dizzy on ladders or even stood on a chair. 😵😣

I can usually tell fairly quickly if I'll be able to do something or if I'm better getting someone more capable involved.

I do the vast majority of the DIY in our home and my business, plumbing, plastering, tiling (including herringbone), some basic electrical work, decorating, hanging shelves etc!

I would love to learn proper carpentry 🔨 🪚

I'm fairly handy with a hammer drill, I have been known to nail the odd shelf up in exchange for a bacon sandwich.

Sparkle if you want a socket fitting I'll do it for a cup of tea and a smile.

I rewired my kitchen, laid underfloor heating, tiled walls and floors etc etc. The one thing I don’t do is plumbing!

"I rewired my kitchen, laid underfloor heating, tiled walls and floors etc etc. The one thing I don’t do is plumbing!"

"I have come to inspect your plumbing" (in my best Swedish accent)
