I’m thinking about taking my daughter away in October for a week as there’s a few offerings under £1000, still a lot of money but my summer has been reasonably uneventful. Wondered if there’s anyone here with similar plans and any suggestions as to where might be a good place to head, this is for a short break with my daughter don’t forget.

It depends on her age, what she likes to do, what you want to do.

Try Rhyl - I think they pay you to visit.

I'm spending 10 days in and around Ayia Napa with my boy end of October.

I took him a couple of years ago at the same time and he loved it.

The party was well and truly over that time of year but it was full of families and the weather was perfect.

We can't wait to get back there.

We used to rent a house in somewhere like the New Forest at half term when our kids were school age or go to a caravan park type of place.

Thanks for the replies.

I was looking at Turkey, Canaries or Cyprus. I expect they will be a bit warmer and they’re offering a water park included in the costs. Shes under 10 and I think that a water park offers a bit more to do… for me at least

I don’t really want to go to Aya napa as I’ve been before on a lads holiday and the last thing I want is a bunch of party animals around.

I've not been to Cyrus but Spain including the Canary Islands is a good bet and Malta is nice and probably warmer in October.
