Cleethorpes

Friend of mine has a profile on Fab. A guy has messaged her, claiming he knows her name, knows who her family is.

He has demanded she have sex with him and if not, will tell her family what she is upto and show her family her pics.

She has told me she going to arrange to meet him, while with a friend. I have told her not to meet him.

Any help would be much appreciated as not sure what to do

Report to the police. It’s a crime.

Very much a scam by the sound of it, it’s embarrassing the lengths some people go to just to have sex 🙄

Even if she reports and blocks him, what's stopping him from showing family and friends?

He knows her name, knows the names if her family too. So he knows who she/they are but won't tell her who he is

"Even if she reports and blocks him, what's stopping him from showing family and friends?"

Does he have any proof he actually knows this?

Report & don't meet.

Advise her to NOT meet him. Absolutely not.

This is definitely a crime. She should go straight to the police.

How else would he know her full name and her family members names?

He has also claimed to Saved all her pics and will show them to everyone if she doesn't have sex with him

How disgusting behaviour. Plus, unless she has a public face photo or recognisable pictures of some distinctive features, very high possibility is he’s lying so however scary he made it look, just block and report and put profile in non active mode for a bit.

Also she should screenshot all his messages, if that's an option.

Why is she continuing to allow him to contact her to tell her all of this?

This happened to us few times, we got really nervous as we were knew. We followed the advice shared here and challenged the a*holes, they soon disappeared.

She was naive enough to have her face on public but has since removed it and now has her profile hidden

She is scared. She is trying to get a pic of him, to find out who he is.

We messaged him, pretending to want to meet him and got him to send his face pic

She needs to contact the police. They can trace the individual through their IP address (even if they delete their fab profile btw).

It’s always tempting to try and deal with this as an issue on a website but it’s someone who needs dealing with before this escalates.

What she is doing isn't a crime. What he is doing is. She should report it to fab who can give his details to the police.

This is criminal behaviour, go to the police.

He may have used this tactic before and may do so again, you have the opportunity to stop it, not just for your friend, but others also.

I have told her to contact the police and to not meet him. I have also mentioned to her this morning that I have created this post. Hoping she sees all the replies, advice and goes to police

Report the profile to admin and the police if she feels able. Do not interact any further with him and under no circumstances meet him.

What he's doing is wrong
