Squats. Because I have the technique down and need the quad strength if I'm going to be on top of Lacey Red

Simple barbell situp. 3 x 10 leaves me in pieces. My core is failing right now.

Never liked gyms hence why I switched to callisthenics training at the outdoor park gyms.

So in answer to the OP’s question I would say in the days when i did use a gym it was the lift home once finished.

I love calisthenics. Since doing them, I feel a lot more flexible

Used to lift quite abit a few year ago

Squats up to 227.5kg

Dead’s up to 260kg

Bench 150kg x 3

But used to love to squat before I got a bad injury all ok now but not got back to any of them levels as before just gym train for fun these days I do get the urge to try them numbers again but got other interests instead now as in cycling

Weighted wide arm pull ups because I completed the lats machine.

Being able to shift 95kg of your own bulk plus the addition of several plates tide round your waste is great to watch in the mirror.

I’m still a gym newbie, but lately I’m enjoying free weights more than anything. Especially chest press!

Second star to the right…

You can’t beat squats deep and in good form.

Hip thrusts are only useful for putting your partner through the bed….i do that anyway so yeah stick with squats 😂

Don’t fear the hip thrusters OP.

You want to fear the ones who squat deep into the pit, heavy with high reps.

They will be screaming, “ light weight baby” inside the gym and the bedroom 😂

I'm loving the Hack squat at the moment for legs. Upper body can't beat gymnastics rings and finally mastered the muscle up for reps

Squats, hack squats and pendulum squats. I’ve got strong legs so always feel like a beast when I do any squat variant.

Atlas stone was my all time favourite when I was doing powerlifting/strongman training.

Now it’s probably the humble press-up.

Abs are great but big legs are what it’s all about.

Squats due to the amount of muscles used throughout the exercise and is an exercise that increases testosterone production which is particularly good for men as we age

Bench - Chest day is the best day

Deadlifts - I feel like I'm putting the effort in and achieving something.

Zercher squats - I like doing them and I rarely see anyone else doing them.
