"Every time i see a certain type of thread, (the snog, shag or avoid ones), i just think 'fuck, yet another ego boosting, look at me, thread'! Tried it once and got 'avoid' so i'm biased against them now. Lol. My question is, are there any type of threads that you wouldn't go near? P.s. The first poster isn't allowed to say 'avoid', lol. " Snog but only when you've got rid of the man flu

Those threads move so fast you often end up replying to a comment that is now three above and end up looking like a prat. I just don't bother with them - my self confidence is bad enough without having my fears confirmed.

"What does sycophant mean? X" It's a buzz word normally used on here by grumpy people. Basically sucking up to someone to gain favour.

"As in life don't discuss politics and religion" I like discussing them - in life and on here. Seems much healthier than keeping it all secret or locked away like something shameful. I don't like the love-in's, or the cries for attention, or the ones full of moral smugness. The people I'd probably enjoy meeting most on here are often those I've disagreed with.

I would completely agree with you but that might be seen as me be a sycophant. PS I really do agree - I like a proper discussion on any topic. Sometimes what gets to me is the seemingly endless quotes from Wikipedia though. But I guess they are necessary to prove a point

"Help on profile threads. Half of them don't take the advise offered anyway, so what's the point? " I don't mind offering helpful tips. But I do re-visit threads i've contributed to and also use the little green arrow regularly - so if a poster asks twice i'm happy to point out the fact they may have ignore all previous advice offered. And it's sometimes nice to see people take feedback in a positive way and make improvements!

"What should be remembered about Wikipedia is that not all entries can be trusted as being true or entirely factual....." And you can change it at any time yourself to seek your own viewpoint.. at least until somebody revises it! It's a brilliant starting point, but only a muppet would quote it as a credible source in its own right.

Of course it's useful on occasion because we don't know everything, but less really is more!

Then, if questions arise people can acces the full quote themselves.

""I'm thinking of leaving this site" Well no I'm not, but that's one of the threads I can't be arsed with. "Whats wrong with us" Why can't I get a meet" "The person below" "The person above" "Check out my profile" ..... those are examples of others, so in other words 90% of them ... " The 'thinking of leaving' threads merit one response and one response only. 'Bye then'.
