"One indicates the love of a friend, the other a long term romantic love" Good point. If you do things like go on outings and have sex. Why would they be friends love but not romantic love

"One indicates the love of a friend, the other a long term romantic love Good point. If you do things like go on outings and have sex. Why would they be friends love but not romantic love" Because sex doesn’t have to involve those feelings. You can enjoy someone’s company, care about them deeply as a friend and still not feel romantic love for them which would be taking a step towards building a life together. Im not even talking monogamy here but a partner is someone you do more than just hang out (and occasionally fuck). You’re actively merging your lives in whatever way your relationship fits together, and your consideration for them and their feelings on any given situation is much more present. Indeed you can also have great sex without being good friends too I’m probably not explaining myself very well here

"ya partners ya partner , ya fwb is just a shag " Not for me it isn't. An FWB has never been "just a shag", but a friend who I care for.

"Level of commitment. Most people would assume a partner to be exclusive whereas a FWB is only yours when their at yours" You've certainly hit the proverbial nail on the head there 👏

"The line can get a bit blurred with a really good FWB. I know I occasionally find myself counting my best friend as a partner. Though there's absolutely no romantic feeling there. All of the awesome friendship and good sex, but not that same deeper feeling I get with my actual partners. It's real fucking close though." I get you x

(Btw I know all my answers to these questions. Just feeling bored and curious.)" Ah you're asking the wrong person here! It takes me some time to fall in love with someone and it doesn't grow if I doubt it... I've never entertained the thought of it with a fwb. What's the difference between partner stuff and fwb stuff? I'm not a big fan of the relationship escalator.

Could be sharing finances, could be laundry (), could be being introduced as such to family members. I use the term partner to describe a relationship type. It’s different to fwb. I wouldn’t describe an fwb as a partner to them or to anyone else. I rarely use gendered terms like bf or gf. And I never use them seriously, only in jest.

"A partner is way different to a fwb. Fwb is mutual convenience however good the friendship is and even if the sexual side wanes the friendship can/could continue. A relationship and partner is deeper entwined and you do not want to think of them not ever being involved in your life in all capacities. All imho of course." I like this
