Went to see it last night, not sure how I feel about it if I'm totally honest.

As a stand alone sci-fi film it was going but as part of the franchise it seemed a bit of an anti climax.

Nothing new, nothing original but still a good quality film just felt a little flat.

the original two are certainly old enough to be recast now and filmed .. get a really good director that is inti practical effects / lighting / pace

there are plenty of great actresses in the 30-40 age bracket that could do a revamp of riply.

reboots are usually just poor with changing to much , and actual like for like remake with modern effects / cameras etc cleaned up script ever slightly maybe with some change of words for current society ..

studios ar just too greedy and want to milk stuff out with lacklustre reboots that deviate far too much from the OP content

The original was an absolute classic and at the time was terrifying, they'd been nothing previously quite like it and the effects at the time groundbreaking ( using real guts for the chest burst scene)

Audiences don't have the patience these days for a slow burn like it,that said Romulus took time to get going but unfortunately you knew what was coming.

It's a seven out of 10 for me. I'd rate it just above Alien 3.

It had some good tension and set peices and it looked fantastic. But (and this is a criticism of several movie sequels) they went heavy handed in referring back to the previous films. One line towards the end actually made me groan out loud and cgi Ian Holm was just creepy

That was never going to happen as it's timeline is set between Alien and Aliens. I really enjoyed it personally.

I feel like a hyped myself up for something mindblowing and deffo a SW cameo at least if not a role (I deliberately avoided all information about it cause I wanted to go see it with an "empty" mind). I got neither.

But it was alright. Which is not great hahahah

Saw it on release: I couldn't stand basically all the characters except for Rain and Andy. First act of the movie was REALLY good, though, then it weny a bit downward for me, still without being heinous.

Overall I found it ok, an alright action flick. Definitely not flawless (especially writing-wise), yet better than Prometheus/Covenant. Not as good as original three movies.

I will watch it again next week, with a more "technical" eye (first watch is always a bit biased).

Saw it last night - not impressed.

Too much repetition (plagiarism??) from the previous movies. No real tension and none of the claustrophobia of the original movie despite being almost the same setting.

No memorable characters (I didnt care who lived or died) and the alien(s) themselves almost seemed superfluous to the movie, bizarrely enough.
