Iā€™m late to the party and trying to wrap my head around this tedious puzzle šŸ¤¦šŸ½

Iā€™ve got an app to aid in the workings out and enjoy it so I bought a booklet and have so far completed 1 out of 10 easy puzzles šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Iā€™m enjoying the learning process but do any of you wonderful Fortniteā€™s have any handy tips šŸ‘šŸ½

I try to concentrate on one number at a time.

See how many boxes you can fill in

Then repeat until you filled them all in.

I go through each square filling the obvious ones in first. Otherwise I just use a pencil and eraser.

I do it online with an App each morning. I work logically/systematically on it (say starting with the 9 and seeing if there are any obvious row or column which could only have a 9 in one place. Then I go down to 8, 7, etc

Once I have done that once, I repeat it again as there is a chance that you have filled in some so that other rows/columns could now only have the 9 in one place.

If it is not obvious, then I use a pencil to list in the squares what numbers could go in each square.

(boy it sounds tedious doesn't it, maybe I should go back to my match stick collection)

somewhere

I hate numbers and always stayed away from them in my puzzle books but I had a stab at one the other month and I dunno, I just started doing it like it all made sense (if you knew me, you would know even looking at a number makes my head hurt).

I try to focus on one box at a time, do all the obvious ones first, I am using an app at the moment that only allows you 3 wrong moves and it's game over x

Thanks everyone, the recommendations are appreciated and the one I completed was using similar suggestions šŸ˜šŸ‘šŸ½

I think Iā€™m using the same app which helps but 3 lives is a kick in the Crown Jewels šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Thanks everyone šŸ˜˜

Not the North West...

Go down the rows one at at a time along with the columns and the squares to see which is missing that number.

In my head I do it all at once. Then go back to the start and keep doing it until it's complete.

I use the same technique, and starting with the row/coloumn/box with the fewest blank spaces.

If you do the ny times puzzle you can use auto candidate mode which is so much easier. Makes the medium and hard puzzles a breeze

New York Times is a newspaper and they have a puzzle section.

Auto candidate mode shows you what number can possibly go in which squares it still takes a bit of working out but alot easier

The easiest way is to do pencil marks from 1 - 9 in every empty box. I do them in a 3x3 grid and yes you have to write small. Cross off the ones you rule out until you're left with one possibility for each box.

That is a better method than mine, write the numbers in pencil, erase, repeat until the page rips, throw the whole book in the bin and swear never to go near another sudoku puzzle again!

OP, when I get to a few empty spaces in a square or row (say 3 or 4), I work out which numbers are missing. Then for each empty space I look to see if any of the missing numbers are in the same row/column or the 3x3 square containing the empty space.

For example you have a column and with 3 space and the missing numbers are 1, 5 and 7. If the 1&7 appear in the row intersecting an empty space in the column, you know that the 5 goes in the column.

I do that too.

There's usually a weak link - a number that's easily determined and that usually starts the elimination off nicely.

I do the NYT Hard puzzle every morning and challenge myself to keep it under 6 mins. 4:37 this morning šŸ˜Ž

Sounds like you're on the right path now, OP.

Tomorrow you will achieve greatness
