All over

I just got my mobile ohone bill and looked unsually high as included out of plan calls. I took a look and was shocked to see a number I called to get sime information about buying something for the bathroom was listed and I had been charged £18.74. It looks like it was an 0871 no. I should of course have noticed but I think that is a prety shoddy practice.

There will have been a price per minute in small print under the phone number.

You need to set a spend cap of £0. Stops accidentally using out of plan services. I have three contracts wIth EE , unlimited calls, free roaming and unlimited data , £8 each. Spend caps guarantees my bill us exactly £24 every month

You can usually block the use of premium rate services, which is an extra precaution, on top of the spending/call restrictions limit above

The whole industry needs greater restrictive measures

There's a website called "say no to 0870" where you can search for the geographical number hidden behind the premium number.
