Came up with this on another thread and thought see where leads now been ironed out. Propose new verification system.

to deter tinewasters should have a tick system. Met and genuine positive tick. Failed to show negative tick. 5 negatives your out.

A negative would be backed up by proof a meet arranged. Easily done by sending a confirmation message either way then saving that message.

If you give a negative tick you back it up with the proof meet was arranged and negative stands.

You can only give a user a negative once. This deters those who may tick through malice.

You would need 5 proven negatives to be removed.

Occasionally a genuine meet will fall through and negatives may occur. If you are a genuine non time waster this would be a one off and no doubt wouldn't happen again. A negative could expire after say 3 months or upon gaining positives.

If you rearranged a meet with someone you had ticked negatively (perhaps they explained and you gave them the benefit of the doubt) you could then provide a positive and cancel out the negative you gave.

Many are accused of being fakes for not displaying verifications. This would rid the need for displaying them. Unless of course you had a particularly good time and can't keep it to yourself!)

Would this reduce the number of timewasters?

So when I get to 4 negative ticks I just leave and rejoin then on another IP address ?

I personally never had a problem with no shows tho prhaps spent too much tine wasted on messaging. I only thought of this as someone else suggested there be a new system on aonther thread

Fair enough but whats the point really...only makes you seem to be complaining and wont change anything....here as in the real world there will always be those who do and those who dont play by the rules.

it won't put off the timewasters they will just keep coming back. the verification system works as it is. the whole negative tick thing would just confuse me. the time wasters will always be around but just don't let it get to you there are also a lot of people who are genuine and up for fun.

You don't need the site to change and 'hand hold' to avoid fakes and timewasters.

Just simple common sense, a sensible level of expectancy and a consistent approach to your interactions.

And never let your hormones win an arguement with your brain!!

You would send a confirmation to each other when arrange meet. When tick negative box fab would ask you to attach corresponding message.

As been pointed out tho inherently flawed as just leave site before they amassed

Would have to tho would create problems re adresses etc.

Perhaps a confirmation of meet button. Can be attached to the pm. Once both parties are ticked it is then an active meet. Perhaps a prompt following day to verify positivly or negatively

Erm......thats when the DNA testing is implemented. Upon joining you provide sample. Any disputes are settled with swabs !

I send confirmations to those I plan to meet. In fact i've sent one in the last hour!

I also do enough homework and have enough contact with my meets to know that bar natural disasters, last minute childcare issues or major roads closures due to accidents - they'll be there when I arrive or they'll arrive at my location on time.

I'll even resist the temptation to strop if they're a little late!

But the meet will go ahead 99% of the time without any additional kerfuffle!

Also stops them rejoining as DNA already on file. Perhaps then fab could clone the most genuine

Another site had a similar system, you log the meets and the confirm it happened. Totally confusing and far to business transaction for me. I personally think the current system works just fine. Verify genuine after a meet and report if a no show if you want you.

Also as someone else said, what's to stop 4 neg tick users just rejoining and starting again? Or setting up fake profiles to give you positive ticks to cancel out neg ones.

No system will ever please everyone, the only person that is the common factor of any meet arranged is you, if you are having problems change the way you use the site, don't try to change the site to how you want to use it.

A verification means one person or maybe more like the person in the profile. A verification is no guarantee that you will like the person as well... Also it has been pointed out before that some have false profiles and give themselves verifications!

I'm happy not to put up verifications even though I may be judged by some to be not worth meeting... "so long on the site and no verifications, you must be a freak!"
