As a recent gym returner, (one or twice a week). I have found my mind wondering during the long 5k runs about who else is wandering around the gym from fab.

I mean it’s like a club visit surely, plenty of folk all there for the same thing, just getting hot and sweaty and feeling great afterwards?

It would be nice to make a gym buddy (pref female) just to chat and encourage each other. I mean who doesn’t like the attention when sat astride a bench doing thigh weights?

Xx stew

We don't want attention while exercising in the gym, we just want to focus. Is there a notice board at the gym? If so you could put a note up asking for a "gym buddy".

If you just want to chat and encourage each other, why do they need to be female?

I dunno chief, 99.9% go to focus and work out. At least, that’s my understanding unless fab mentality is different?

Your club visit analogy falls down when you consider the motivation for a club generally involves other people in some way but the goals in a gym are always personal.

When we go to the gym together we don't speak much as it's a distraction, but if you want a gym buddy then as others have said, it's probably easier to find locally than on here.
