Detest airports. And the older I get the more I hate them.

Everyone seems stressed.

There's always someone completely oblivious to the security search until they get there.

Everything's overpriced.

Queues everywhere for food, toilets, duty free.

And don't get me started on the "cabin suitcases" or groups wearing "On Tour" shirts....

Random rant ! 🤣

I just go a bit earlier, get though security, get a pint, read my book and chill. Makes it more bearable.

I really don't understand people queuing to get on the plane though - does anyone do this and why ?

Duty free is a myth just because theirs no duty doesn't mean it's cheaper ,they don't like you boarding a plane intoxicated and yet they have bars all over the airports ,so much water wasted .Suitcases are too big for the baggage contraptions ,car parks too expensive etc etc

It’s the lack of leg room in aeroplanes that does my tits in.

Puts me off ever doing long haul ever again, unless I win the lotto.

Not much you can do regarding the airport, just take a deep breath and think of the end result.

Airports are crap but once on the plane I'm happy. I rarely see take off I'm typically asleep before.

I like window seats, getting curled up and having a nap, only to wake up for food being brought and watching a film that normally my attention span wouldn't allow in another situation.

I've only been left twice. Actually I wasn't a fan. I felt loads of pressure to drink. I guess the stewards looked at me and thought she'll never be back over here. But they kept asking if I wanted a drink and reiterating it was free. I don't drink.

No. I get hauled unceremoniously down the (very narrow) aisle, strapped to THE most uncomfortable contraption, whilst tied down like someone being carted off to Broadmoor. As my hips smash into each chair arm and as every passenger stares, points or refuses to move out of the way because they're getting their inflatable comfy pillow out of the overhead locker, I try to relax and think of my destination.

I can fully recommend not queuing and being manhandled onto a plane by people who mainly would prefer to be working elsewhere

Thousands do this and it's hilarious . As soon as the gate is called, they'll queue by the gate, many times the plane isn't even there yet! So while they stand for 45 minutes to get to sit in the cramped plane seats for longer, we find somewhere to stretch out and get on when the queue has gone

Get an airport lounge.

It's £15 for a cup of tea and some questionable sourdough toast. Might as well get the cheapest lounge and relax

Get yourself an Interrail train pass

You're both still young enough

Go explore

Then come back and rant about train stations

Paper Town Central, Essex.

Love flying, but I hate it when the person in front reclines their seat and you've got a drink on the tray.

Always get a seat just behind an emergency exit. It's worth it.

I guess it depends if you're trying to fit your case in the overhead locker.

These days where they charge you for baggage, people try to get away with hand luggage, and then there's not enough room inside... I'm sure soon they'll charge people for breathing, too.

I hate that we need to be there 2 to 3 hours beforehand

I want to turn up, get through security and straight on the plane

Airport terminals hold no interest for me

Unfortunately, they are developed to attempt to separate us from our money

Ohhhhh, I can rant about railway travel. Would you like to hear about disabled passenger assistance on trains?

lol Definitely sympathies, it never a great experience from leaving to get to airport to taking off your pretty much on the go 3-4+ hrs depending on distance and that’s just to start with. On the plus side though, I have to admit I’ve been fortunate to enjoy some incredible holidays in incredible places which took a lot of the sting and bad feeling out of it x

Airports are fine, it's just some of the brainless cunts that use them that's the problem. Oh and Ryanair but that goes without saying really.

Because airlines started charging extra for hold luggage. So everyone tries to cram everything into their hand baggage. And there isn’t enough space on the plane, so people want to get on first to make sure they get the overhead locker space.

It’s ridiculous.
