A lot of people do but we don't. We always meet for a drink first anyway so if they don't turn up or look vastly different to their pictures we've still had a trip out.

I have extreme anxiety and I hate phone calls. I will only video call with people I know very well and usually it’s just my immediate family.

I’ll send an everyday face photo so they know what I -really- look like and I will always meet in a public place. If that is not satisfactory, then it’s my loss… 🤣🤣🤣

I interact with literally hundreds of people everyday at work, no biggie. But don’t make me make a phonecall because I become an anxious, clumsy, stammering mess haha

There are many reasons why we just have a brief social. I understand why people insist on phone calls but we never found them to be all that useful. An in person tells you so much more

It totally does but before that in person meet I still want a call

The chat usually brings out any red flags and a social means we can see how people are.

No , I never insist on anything specific but usually chat on WhatsApp for a while.

Sometimes exchange voice notes or have a phone call. It’s very organic I understand that different people have different levels of comfort around meeting people from the Internet .

I am very good at quickly identifying time wasters or problematic people, just by message content.

I think generally people can see very quickly I’m genuine and a safe bet though

That's fair. I think the type of person interested in us is more likely to turn up and although they have sometimes very obviously been economical with their days of birth are usually more of less similar to their photos

To be fair and in all honesty I have been bitten on more than one occasion with the old photo trick or trading standards description.

But always have a lovely social and never hit the button.

But I always find that because it's a lovely social it's harder to say that they are not for you (as well as possible mixed messaging when I am clearly enjoying a coffee with them).
