3d Body Scanning

Just wondering if this was a service people might use as a sideline to having the necessary kit? A bit like the old clone-a-Willy silicone kits but brought up to date with high res 3d scanners. The advantage being you can scan any body part(s), face, or whole bodies, much quicker and cleaner than a mould goes off. You can also make changes/repeats e.g. enlarge or shrink the digital file to make bigger or smaller versions, sleeves etc. It could then be either 3d printed or printed to a negative mould to create personalised silicone/latex/metal toys, ornaments, decorations, and items. I have lots of ideas of what you can make once you have the model on file, as well as making things more ergonomic, but wondering if people would actually go through the scanning process rather than using a home kit.

It could be fantastic for lots of purposes. Ideally, am app could take and form a good 3D image, which could then be useful for fitness, health and sexual/toy ideas. I think some Apple phones have a l Lidar equivalent.

For phones and apps, it's likely that nobody has seen enough profit potential in it.

A lot of people track their body measurements, via recording their stats or photos. A quick scan and calculations from it would be awesome

There’s sine nice applications when this becomes consumerists.

One I worked on a few years ago was for Islamic women try clothes on but getting hold of the manufactures detailed sizing and colour data in a structured format is hard, they don’t want to share , but if they could put it into the QR you could do a full try out and pan around without getting undressed

Would be good for prosthetics, people of similar height, build, age freeing up what size an arm or leg mould should be digitally.

I think the Pro versions only have LIDAR sensors ?

There is simple AI can do as good by looking at the photos on your Facebook without LIDAR , many tailors use it make clothes remotely , a lot of them just ask for your Facebook profile and the accuracy of suits and shirts is as as good as being measured

The phones and apps can go a certain way to giving the level of detail but I was thinking more the commercial grade scanners like the Hexagon RS5. I agree phones open the idea up to people doing it themselves at home rather than having someone else do it, either coming to them or visiting an office/studio, but that’s the question really…would anyone actually do that. It would just be a sideline that I wouldn’t expect to make a huge amount of money from, the kit is used commercially for more lucrative engineering projects most of the time.

I think you jusr want to scan your Willy

I honestly don’t think the penis self moulding kit sector is big enough or lucrative enough to disrupt with this tech

Funnily enough I've been wanting to machine carve a wooden nude of my wife, but going from an image to a 3D model is an almighty learning curve, so I would definitely pop her in your machine and have her scanned K

That's amazing that those tailors can do that but is perhaps, almost certainly, due to their expertise in their profession.

I'm guessing that there's no app that can assess your physique, with or without AI tech involved?
