I’ve moved away from using the traditional wooden ones to plastic after a couple of stains appeared on my whites.

I don’t think they are as robust or give as good a grip as the wooden ones though. Maybe I need to look at a better quality brand

I have some really good metal ones. A little bit more pricey but worth every penny.

Grippy? Rustproof? Not too harsh on body parts?

Grippy and rust proof. I couldn't possibly comment on the rest.

I find the modern ones weaker and not as strong and springy and with a firmer grip

(the metal spring on the wooden pegs )

I’m sure the technique is what matters…

Wooden pegs are generally superior on a sensation level.

But unless your clothes are getting off on it, I'd say plastic makes more sense for hanging up the washing.

👆🏼I totally concur with this..

I tend to use soft grip plastic one from Lakeland as they don’t leave marks, impressions, or evidence on anything lol

The plastic ones are weak AF. For sheets and giggles I experimented- wooden ones really grip my nips, plastic, not so much

There are a lot of stainless steel clothes ‘clips’ but they look like they should be in an office stationary cupboard. Fuggit, Amazon primed and they are on their way

Plastic ones become brittle in the sun and break, they could leave nasty cuts.

Can't beat the wooden ones, though try not to let the spring close on any sensitive parts.
