He's more a satirist. His work speaks and speaks clearly regardless of what people think of the medium or method.

Live in Scotland Play in England

Given the numbers that appreciate his work, I'd very much say he is a genuine artist

Wirral.

If folk want it on their property, fair do's.

I wouldn't.

I don't consider grafitti or similar style to be art.

Indifferent.

Whatever you choose to call it, there’s no denying that it can cheer up some sad ass looking structures.

East Sussex

the thing about art is that according to the experts of which I am not one, almost anything can be art.

I've been to exhibitions and been given blurb on the exhibits that make me want to laugh out loud. One was carpet draped over ladders, another a video of a man dressed as Jack in The Green riding a scooter through country lanes, another was a jar of pasta letters.

As I said, I know virtually nothing about it but if carpet on a ladder can be classified as art then Banksy's efforts can too.

Art is or has a widely varying audience, some of his stuff is ok if it were on my building I'd feed him to the wolves .

depends if you class art as the physical form or the concept of what it represents...and therein lies a whole different discussion

But he could make you a millionaire . I'd forgo my home, to prosper from it. I'd perhaps need to hire armed guards, to stop theft or damage, if he painted on mine.
