I guess in a hotel it depends if you can hear sounds from the other rooms - which will indicate whether your bed squeaking can be heard by them. But then also whether you are bothered as to the reaction, since in theory you are never going to see those people again - though I guess it could be embarrassing as you leave your room if you meet them coming out into the hallway at the same time.

I do find it off putting, but it was not enough to stop me engaging in The Sex with my partner

Yes. I fucking hate it. If I know nobody else can hear it then it isn't a problem, but if others are closeby it's an absolute pain. My bed can't be fixed. It's like it wants the world to know I'm being rammed.
