It has been 10 years since he passed! A tragic loss as he seemed to be a genuinely warm loving human being and supremely talented actor.

Growing up Aladdin, Popeye and Mrs Doubtfire were favourites and as I got older I appreciated his more serious works.

There was one where he lived in the snow where he worked in a camera shop. A serious film and he played that well. Proper under the radar for him.

I liked him but was never a massive fan so I didn't go to see movies just because he was in them so I haven't seen a lot of those already mentioned.

I agree about him appearing to be a great human being as he insisted on hiring homeless people as extras in every movie and had it written in as part of his contract.

But for the roles I think he was born to play were in the films, Good Will Hunting and Mrs Doubtfire. I don’t think anyone else could or would do a better job.

The scenes between him and Matt Damon in the office in GWH are possibly up there with some of the best in cinema- before you even consider one was a relative newbie and the other was a goofball comedian

The story I love is during a break in filming, Williams took Damon to the Boston courthouse to meet Spielberg, who was filming Amistrad. That meet led to Damon getting the lead in Saving Private Ryan.

As for popeye, when I was younger I visited the set built in Marta. Quite incredible they built a set like that, that functioned after the film.

I went there too! I loved visiting it. Its still a tourist attraction to this day.

Apparently he made The Dead Poets Society a success. The origional script was bland and boring, nothing really spectacular. It was because of his input and performance that it was so well.

I still remember Mork and Mindy, especially the episode where Mork met 'Robin Williams'.

He was a fantastic actor, spectacular performer and a great human being.

I've just watched The Night Listener having not heard of it before. It's a good one, thanks. Have you seen Boulevard? It's pretty much his past film, came out after he'd died. Worth seeing if you haven't already.

He was a regular cameo in the final season I think - Mork would come to the Cunningham's door and Williams would do his stuff. Got so popular that they gave him his own show.
