Great speech from Obama. He has the majority of people on his side and the republicans are rightly feeling the heat due to their political manipulation of a hugely emotive situation. The proposal to increase background checks on gun purchases is only a small step but it needs to happen to have any hope of changing things for the better in the long term. The children of Newton may yet save future lives.
