Has anyone bought a cheap version of one of these. If so what did you think?

No links please 🥳

Bought the £15 version, it's not very powerful at all so okay on thin hair/ bangs but no good for thick hair.

Thought about trying the magic styler £39 version, in case it was better, but would rather know from someone who has one first.

Sorry that's not much help!

That's why I'm asking I want someone else to have taken the risk.

Keep an eye on this thread and we both might learn something

Next Door

I bought my daughter one, she's has long thick hair and it's not very good.

Hard to get it to wrap around the barrel and curls didn't last long.

A friend has the Dyson one, she says the same, curl doesn't last.

I was bought the Shark one for Christmas...absolutely brilliant. I wouldn't waste your money on any of the cheaper versions x

I was afraid that might be the case.

I don't want to spend that sort of money really. Although if I win the lottery...

I have from a popular social media site not book of faces

It was crap used to get too hot and my hair got trapped around one of the brushes, thankfully got it loose without cutting hair

I currently use a Babyliss Big Hair. It's a hairdryer with a brush that rotates. I'm on my fourth one and I've yet to find anything better or that even comes close. From what I've read here so far I'll be sticking with it I think.

Same. I'm on my fourth too. I don't use it for curls though, but a salon quality bouncy blow dry... I've yet to see it beat.

For curls I tong them then let them cool on a velcro roller. I have long thick hair so nothing is time saving for me 😔

Mines quite thick and getting longer after my hairdresser went a bit off piste while cutting it a few months ago.

Mines layered so I can get a curl in it with the Babyliss but it's quite curly anyway, it's the frizz I need to banish.

I think I'll stick with what I'm doing and spend my money I something else

Oh interested in this - my hairdryer blew up yesterday with fire +smoke in my hand

I'm considering a Dyson and wondered if the air wrap is an accessory or if you have to buy a separate product?

I have very thick long hair that has a curl/wave

See I don't get in with that, it doesn't get close enough to my roots to dry thoroughly enough that leaves me with curl / frizz. I end up using a normal hair dryer on the roots and finishing the rest with the 'brush'

But different strokes for different folks I guess

Yes it rotates as it dries. I wouldn't be without mine.

The air wrap is seperate, my old gym had the dyson hairdryer in the changing rooms plus diffuser and it was amazing!

I had long thick curly hair at the time and it always looked sooooo god after using it, it was real motivation to go to the gym for a work out

I've been pondering the airwrsp, thanks for the feedback I this thread. Another thick hair girlie here, so was hoping for a cheap shortcut to beachy waves and bouncy curls

Oh really! I have a £175 recognition voucher from work, so that will definitely make it 'more affordable' in my head

😂 worth giving it a go. It takes time to fully dry but it's worth it. I do mine to mostly dry and aie dry the last bit. Look up techniques for difusing online as there's a few different ways you can do it. Also use the cool setting.

I had a 5 in one bought for me that included an air wrap with it ( well two actually, a left and a right ) and the wrap worked well although I have curly , layered hair so the curls work well and stayed in, but on a longer haired friend although they looked gorgeous , they didn't last as long as mine.

The other attachments worked well too and that hairdryer is very light and quick to dry if you want to use just that.

I don't know how good the more expensive ones are in relation to it though.

The blurb says.....

110,000rpm produces a fast and powerful airflow with a speed of up to 20M/s, 6 times more powerful than a conventional hair dryer warm air brush

It seems Ok and dries pretty quick and I have thick hair

Ahhh not just me then!

I'm still tempted by the Dyson.... It's just justifying when a hairdryer is less than a tenth of the price 🙈
