Thanking you, all advice welcome 🤗

It’s up to you really.

Some people never chat away from Fab. Others, may prefer to chat on Telegram or WhatsApp.

If you don’t want to exchange details outside of Fab, no one says it’s a must. There’s infrastructure here for keeping in touch. As clunky as it may be, it’s functional.

It’s completely up to you, you set boundaries and you do what suits you best. There is no right and wrong

We don't chat on any other apps. Why not just chat on Fab?

It does get a bit tedious having to log in everytime though and sometimes you don’t want to be seen online

Most apps will show you as being online. Whether it’s double ticks for message being sent or any other way

One person on here has my number

Yes we are the same. We don't use Kik or Skype as our grandkids often use our phone.

It all depends on you and how you feel with the conversation.

If you are worried about being checked when you were last online you can hide your profile.

We were chatting to another couple that had a "fuck phone" which they purely used for meets and chatting to people. If you can afford to have a cheap PAYG phone it's a good idea

I tend to only move to other platforms once a date for a social is firmly in place. Or if I've met someone at an event and we're chatting as friends.

Even then I still end up having long conversations on here with some people despite having chats going on WA or TG.

Lean into it.

You being online doesn’t mean you owe anyone your time. If someone had expectations of you that don’t align with what you can meet or want to meet, then choose to be in control of your options.

Don’t let anyone else dictate how you choose to use Fab, or change your behaviour based on their expectations. Do simply what suits you.

I only move to another platform if I intend to meet that person or if we’ve really hit it off as friends.

I've only moved one chat off of Fab thus far, but I am considering floating the option with a couple of people I've been talking to for a while.

That is not at all a normal response. People are free to move to other chat media *if they want to*, but that should never be an expectation or mandate. Demanding that someone compromise their personal boundaries is creepy.

Normal? I wouldn’t call it normal. It’s someone who is trying to dictate how you should behave according to their expectations.

If it’s not within your boundaries, then it’s not normal.

That's someone having a tantrum because you won't do what they say.

Their behaviour speaks volumes about their character.

You do what's good for you op.

Exactly this OP. You do you. If the other person doesn’t like that then they’re not your kind of people 🌈

I hope it's not a "normal" responce in any sense. However, sadly, from what I read in the forums it is not an uncommon responce. (imho it'd be an winning entry in the race for the block button)

Personally I've had chats which have quite quickly out-grown the limitations here; and I've had chats that have always stayed within FAB - play it by ear, but if new don't be in a hurry to move away from fab, aand never let anyone push you in to it.

Good luck and happy fab'ing

Usually depends on how comfortable we are with the people we're talking to. There have been times where we just hit it off immediately and setup up WhatsApp group chats. Sometimes it takes a few weeks
