I've given up on it. Whatever I do, I'm fat. I'm going with the dude from the gym the other day who said I'm strong. It's muscle

The issues I have with eating at the moment mean it's frankly stupid to try counting too much.

Used to calorie count when I was trying to put on weight to go from 55kg standard weight to 60kg

Needed about 2000+ a day then now I just keep eating the same and staying but fluctuate around 60kg

Not religiously and I don't think I've ever calorie counted my food even though I think it might help in putting size on even though I try to watch what I eat. So far, I've just gone off the eye test and just eat a little less if I think I'm getting a bit pudgy.

I track everything I eat.

I drink 3-5 L of water a day.

I do a minimum of 45 minutes of running a day lately, weight train 2-4 days a week, Pilates 1-2 days a week, and I try to walk everywhere instead of using escalators, lifts, etc.

One of the reasons I started HRT was because I gained a stone and no matter what I did I couldn’t shift it. I had weighed the same weight for all of my adult life so this was concerning. Since starting HRT, I’ve more than half the stone I gained last year, but I’ve also become hyper obsessed with my weight. In a not so healthy way.

Nope. I try not to be a dick about what I eat but that doesn't always work. After years of punishing my body to survive without food, I no longer deny myself anything and haven't weighed myself in over a year. It's a slippery slope that I've no interest in sliding back down.

I don't watch my weight per se (it doesn't fluctuate hugely) but I know when I'm a bit softer around the edges than other times (like now!).

I guess I try to track body fat percentage more than actual kilos, and will watch calories when I want to bring that down. I need to get back in that bandwagon now, but motivation is LOW.

I’m quite lucky, I weigh myself at least once a week, I’ve never counted calories. I never really need to go on diets although I did in my thirties as I put on quite a bit of weight.

I don’t watch what I eat, but do eat quite healthy plus the odd cake and ice cream. I currently weigh 60Kg , that’s my usual weight.

Are you me? but seriously, I think I am sorting of in a middle ground where I need to decide if I want to do a full on bulk or just maintain what I have and lose some fat and potentially the little muscle I have. It's a fine balancing act!

Yes please if that's at all possible then I'm game for that. All my late teens and majority of my adult life I struggled to lose weight so had a gastric bypass, lost almost 13 stone, although last stone and a half was unintentional and now found out I got a pancreas problem where I can't digest protein fats or carbohydrate

I am pretty active and I have a regular/standard diet which means I know what food I need to eat to maintain the weight I want to.

I have gotten into the habit of weighing myself daily to record it in my health app and overtime that has taught me how changing the amount/what I eat and altering the amount/type of exercise I do impacts my health. It’s pretty cool when you can see those changes happening in the numbers in front of you a day or so later.

Try drinking some of your calories makes It loads easier

My favourite concoction Is

Pint of milk

100ml double cream

50g peanut butter

2 scoops protein powder

Mix in blender, has about 1360 calories in and takes under a minute to consume

Not particularly. Genrally my only policy on weight is the is a line I will not cross (which fairly generous). Any weight below that line I'm happy enough. But an important line for my health and because I don't want to buy a new wardrobe. If I encroach on this line it kicks my ass into action.

I've always exercised, for my mental health as much as anything. And when I get the training bug it logically follows that I lose weight. If more in appearance around my face and my mid section than in actual kg. I don't like to lose too much weight it doesn't suit me. So I don't diet and I don't run myself thin. If I'm training I prefer to bulk and convert bad kg's to better kg's rather than lose too much actual weight.

Yes, track calories, macros and micros. Changes depending on if I'm trying to put on muscle or lose fat. Currently carb cycling while trying to gain. When dropping fat I'll adopt an intermittent fasting approach.

On the subject of protein absorption, the 25-30g is very much debunked.

Yes,

I like to keep my weight around the 85KG mark. Don’t mind straying a few kilos either way but anything more than that and I start eating more or less depending on which direction I need to take.

I also eat a healthy diet because it makes me feel much more energised and happy. Almond croissants in particular are my kryptonite though. They are almost solely responsible for giving me love handles but I can’t give them up.

"In winter yes 👍🏾 to make sure I’m bulking correctly go upto 97kg.

In summer drop to 93kg which I’m at now 😊. No calories count or any of that complex nonsense haha just potion control, buying food low on fat content and exercising"

Most of that 93 kg appears to be cock!

I try to but it’s been hard going. With diet and exercise I’ve lost 3 and a half stone over last twelve months but I still have a long way to go until I’m at the weight I’m aiming for. Long road ahead and will power is weak some days 😢

I've never counted a calorie nor been on a diet.

I've always been slim, though I don't know how much of that is down to diet/exercise and how much is bowel disease.

My trousers have gotten tighter over the last few years so now I try not to snack in the evening, but that's as far as I go.

Don’t calorie count because I simply cannot be bothered with all that faff… I do take my weight every week on a Monday morning around the same time.

Began walking more since the start of May averaging between 15-18k steps at least 5 days of the week alongside my weights sessions at the gym.

My weight is usually dependant on my mh and my mood and vice versa. It's a catch 22 situation.

I often comfort eat as its the least destructive form of self harm I can do to cope with my mh.

I can really relate to this one.

A little trick I use to try and get out of that cycle when it’s threatening to go full blown is to think of exercise as the self harm I.e. go through the pain barrier, exercise that bit longer, harder or faster and “punish” myself that way.

It’s obviously not particularly healthy either but it can help me kick start the good MH cycle and prevents me from spiralling into that self destructive pattern of binge eating. Binge exercise instead

"I need to increase my weight but it's so hard to do. I'm starting to wonder if I have a mini me inside me because those calories just seem to fucking disappear. I envy people that can gain weight by eating a small amount.

Try drinking some of your calories makes It loads easier

My favourite concoction Is

Pint of milk

100ml double cream

50g peanut butter

2 scoops protein powder

Mix in blender, has about 1360 calories in and takes under a minute to consume"

I'm having to increase weight and struggling due having previously a gastric bypass and now also a digestive problem... However I've been on a high protein diet of six mall meals a day and two protein drinks and have gained 8lbs in 2 weeks after not being able to gain weight in ages...

I try and eat healthily and fight with myself every day over icecream. But I don’t check calories or weight or any of that stuff. It’s too restrictive for me brain. Eat better, move more. Put the fucking Icecream down. That’s me. Still too porky 🤣

I work really hard to be able to eat and drink what I want when I want. I'm struggling to lose the holiday weight to be honest but I went into eating and drinking overdrive.

I don't count it, only eats 2x in a day, nothing after 6. Sleep hungry, wake up skinny. That's how it works for me

(Me) I watch my weight, I count carbs not calories. Lost 6st6lbs and I’ve been surprised at how easy it’s been.

I cycled and exercised for years trying to loose weight but put weight on, I genuinely thought I had a health issue. Turns out I was just lazy, not lazy in a sitting around watch TV all day, but to lazy to sort my diet and eating habits out.
