A different kind of double-standard

Do you have different standards for other people than you do for yourself?

For example, do you find people who don't have toned bodies attractive, but feel as though your own body isn't attractive if it isn't? Or do you like it if a play partner has a natural, slightly untidy look but hate feeling you have a hair out of place (anywhere)? Or alternatively, do you expect a partner to make a lot of effort to dress up while you dress casual?

Do you have a different standard (higher or lower) for yourself than for your partners in any way?

For me a double standard is unfairly applied.

I think what you’re saying is that it’s a choice. I look one way but like another look and that’s natural in many ways. Otherwise then saying opposites attract wouldn’t exist.

When my wife used to play, she always hated me with stubble on my face (still does lol) but any guy that she went for always had a rugged look, designer stubble or short beard and she would let them put that face anywhere lol where if I had stubble she would complain it itched her face or stuck in her thighs lol

No for me it’s still a choice. How you look and what you’re attracted to are totally different

Not sure it's a double standard in general terms...but for me personally I would find it very off putting if my partner has high expectations of me that she wouldn't be able to match in one way or another. If on top of that she would also constantly verbalise it and tell me how I should look like or dress...that would be way too possessive for my taste

Double standards to me is being with someone, who I love and adore but fancying someone else who is complete different to them...for example rubik has dark hair, tattoos, built like a marshmallow (yes I am allowed to say that), but he is late 30s; personally speaking I go for anyone under 35 and not built for cuddles (with the exception of dark hair and tattoos), so looks very different to him but my heart is with him.

Pretty much jinxing there Mrs Knight!

On the same lines, I also fancy women smaller than me too but never think they'll be interested because I'm larger. Another weird mental double standard of sorts.

I love when people have a similar accent to myself, find it incredibly hot but I tire of my own voice at times. It doesn't have the same effect on me when I hear it back.

I love softer women, love jiggles and fleshy thighs but on me? Nope. Not the biggest fan of it and working on it.

It's not double standards.

The only double standard I could technically have, is if I found myself attracted to someone in real life, whom I had formed a negative opinion of through their online/forum character? I doubt this would ever be tested for real though…..

Apart from that, I go for people who make me smile, and I can easily chat with. Their physical appearance is less important to me, so it matters not whether they are less, or more toned than I am.

It's fairly natural to have preferences, even if someone you like has different qualities to your own. I admire men who have ripped bodies, many of them probably have a fastidious obsession with their diet. I do not. But many of these shredded guys love my body. It's not hypothetical etc

I'm actually the same but with noses. I absolutely hate how big my nose and think it's a turn off but a sort of crooked, beaked nose on a woman I find absolutely gorgeous because of how distinct it makes her face
