Can a narcissist forget you?

I was reading an interesting article about whether an narcissist can forget you?

She mentioned different points about how a narcesist is and acts, like how many people discarded by a narcissist continue to hope for their return, often thinking they have lost the love of their life.

She added that how narcissists lack 2 essential things which is the essential things "whole object relations and object constancy" also how narcessists often reply memories and feelings when they are in a low mood or have had a conflict with a new partner.

She concluded by saying that while a narcissist might remember you, they wont hold onto the memory with any real significance, they will continue their pattern of manipulation and move on to their next target.

What is your view about it, do you think that a narcessist can forget you? I agree that they might rememeber you, but never really trufully forget you, because their disorder causes them to view love in an unhealthy way

Exactly that. Their loss is yours and someone else’s gain. You do you for you and let them deal with that must unwelcome of traits

Im very curious as to why you have read another article on narcissists Shag.

I don't view narcs as manufactured in the same factory and acting identically and robotically.

They have other aspects to their personalities

Exactly this. Every one now remove their labels and replace them with little scales and the good news is you can make up the names & have as many as you want.

I’m diagnosed as below and living a perfectly normal life…

I split from a narcissist 8 years ago, to this day he still tries to access my email & get a confirmation sent knowing I’d know at least once every 2 weeks, and only 3 months ago he liked 1 of my child’s post on Instagram, he’s not even following her!!!

When you break free from living with a narcissist you still haven't completely gained your freedom back as a narcissist will do whatever they can to still try and manipulate you,find out what your upto or use other sources to do so if they can't themselves.They feel like they have the need to control every part of your life and when your no longer with them they have lost all control so then look for other ways to feel like they have still got a say in what you do with your life.They leave behind emotional scars..the damage has already been done but once your brave enough to get yourself out of that situation it's a powerful feeling..you are free to be who you want to be.
