Question of Death.

Some strong opinions being stated on Maggies death have started me wondering and now I have a question.

Which celeb/public figure/world figure would you actually feel very sad to see go, and why exactly? I dont mean someone you're related to or know personally. Someone you've never met but who has touched you on a psychological level or had some effect on your life.

Me. Terry Pratchett. His books have brought me so much joy over the last 20 years, and to see the mind that created those books gradually eroded by alzheimers will make me very sad indeed.

Wholeheartedly agree with this. In fact, I read Pratchett every night - some books I have read half a dozen times. It will, indeed, be a sad loss.

Terry Pratchett is someone I will miss deeply, his recent(ish) documentary on assisted suicide really touched me.

I was very sad when Kurt Cobain died, say what you will about the man, to me he was and still is an idol. He did a lot for music in his short life.

There's always one...leave now via the door marked 'idiot' and have a jolly good think about what you've done.

Henry Rollins - very quietly tragic man but considering all he has endured, he is one hell of a bright spark, a very creative and expressive mind, very hopeful for the human race and very wise before his time. A true inspiration and may he live long!

I don't mean just the one.

I would be sad at the loss of Maya Angelou, Germaine Greer, Angela Carter, Dame Judy Dench, Helen Mirren.

Arse End of the Universe, Cumbria

I echo those who've mentioned Terry Pratchett, I'll miss many of my favourite novelists when they shuffle off the mortal coil - I will be bereft when Her Maj passes away, a lifetime in gracious service of her country and seldom a mis-step

Echo.

A person who's films I've always admired: Morgan Freeman.

A person who'shviews I've sometimes admired: Richard Littlejohn

A person who's advice I'm eternally indebted to: Martin Lewis

A person who's tits I'd love to admire: Cheryl Cole.

Yes, same here.

She was not much older than my daughter and it really upset me when she died.

Slightly off topic as she's already dead but Donna Summer was the one for me. I grew up listening to her fantastic voice. Was gutted when she died last year.
