Would you turn down

Would you turn someone down on the way they dressed?

No snobbery involved to designer labels but more if someone turned up in crocs or sandals or 3/4 length trousers on a man?

What’s the smallest thing you’ve ever turned someone down for?

No. If they matched that persons vibe that’s cool. So long as clean and tidy.

Once past the social stage they won’t be wearing their clothes for long anyway.

It’s more about lack of effort. Style is personal, but if someone clearly hasn’t tried then I find it quite rude.

Eg - gym gear, work gear (unless we’ve agreed it’s straight after something like that as a quick meet up because we happen to both be there..)

Nø, because I expect that we would align perfectly on more important things like personality, their quirks and idiosyncrasies, stimulating conversations and so forth. What they wear or how they dress would be of much lower importance as long as they are presentable (fresh, clean, and not threadbare).

No we wouldn't turn down people on the way they dress, we dress as we want and don't follow fashion we have our own taste in clothes that probably wouldn't appeal to most.

We would turn down people who we weren't compatible with though but nothing to do with their clothing.

You probably did not like him shouting out "Wake up you beggars, it's Cheggers!”

(^ you are way too young to know what that is about!)

I find crocs kind of sexy. Paired with scrubs they can skip the foreplay.

I turned someone down because of their voice before. It was too... irritating. Not sexy. Let's leave it at that.

As to clothing, couldn't really care less. If someone shows up in a tailored suit or tracksuit makes no odds to me, as long as they're confident and comfortable in how they look and the hygiene is up to scratch.

Yes I would turn someone down for the way they dressed and have done so. How you dress is how you represent yourself to the world. I'm fairly certain people have turned me down for the same reason.

I guess the smallest reason I've turned someone down is for a certain look in their eye. It's not small to me but might be to other people

The crocs might be a no... Not exactly sexy are they?

I've had people turn up for socials in scruffy shorts and t-shirts, which was disappointing when I've made an effort with a nice summery dress.

It's more about matching effort.

I've had similar as Meli... The voice has been off putting.

Absolutely this. But then, if someone were to show up in a suit I'd definitely be 😜😍

A Bon Jovi tshirt could be potential knob flopper !

I did turn someone down due to her tattoos , not the fact of having tattoos , I like tattoos !

The subject matter was just beyond coping with .

Yes, I probably would, more so because of lack of effort/dirty clothes than sense of style.

Given some of the responses, it would be best not to meet me when I am walking the dog (trakkie bottoms, T-shirt, crocs) - though the dog is adorable and well presented so they might overlook my scruffy appearance.

Mrs Misfit on our first social meet did not take to what I was wearing and nearly call it a day before it had even started. I was looking a bit of a nerd that day (but fashion has never been my thing). We were going our seperate ways after spending an awkward hour over a pot of terible tea (Mrs Misfit chose the tea rooms). Then just I kissed her. It was hot and passionate and a total suprise. That changed everything and turned into a really fun, sexy all day date for the next 6 hours (more sort of three dates in one). From a terrible start to getting most intimately acquainted in my car. I don't think we'd have ever stopped if I didn't have to get home to my kids. We finished the meet holding hands. And here we are together six years later.

So be careful what you discard based on your fashion tastes. At least before you've kissed (I find kissing is very telling).

"What about if they brought Orville 🤣🤣🤣"

Then I'd purely converse with the lil green fella "I wish I could fly!!"

As others have said, if someone turned up dirty and scruffy, then it would likely be a no thanks, not again (although I did once meet a chap who'd just finished work, so I was aware he'd be in scruffs, although we've never met again, but that's another matter).

We turned a man down because he arrived in his work clothes. It wasn't purely down to that it was the fact that taking a clean shirt to work would have aroused his wife's suspicions and he'd told his colleagues he was nipping out to the post office.
