Given my age...someone under 30 I don't believe would be compatible with me.

Under 25 frankly would feel icky. And 30 plus tend have more things in common and conversation tends to flow better.

But it's just a preference. Many have limits about above 40.

Just move on to those that your compatible with.

I rarely find myself having much in common with younger people. I also like people who have enough experience and confidence to not usually need much guidance to hit the right spots. I know when I was younger and went with younger it often felt more like I was a teacher or mentor than someone there to actually enjoy themselves.

I do have a partner who's in his 20s, so it does work out occasionally. But I've never actively sought younger people than myself.

My lower age limit has crept up over the years as I've found I'm less likely to have thing in common with people in their earlier 20s. I have also found that people in these age groups are more likely to display behaviours I'n to so keen on - whether that's a maturity thing or a just been from an age group where different things are acceptable.

If I got chatting to someone in a club, I'm less interested in age because I can gauge in person their approach but on here, you have to find ways of deselecting.

Like many others.. I will tend to not be attracted to people close to my sons age.

It's easier to filter that here or on other apps.

If I met someone organically or in a club setting and was drawn to them in person and in situ, it may mean that the person and personality/chemistry/scenario precedes the rule.

I'm about to slip off the filters too, as a 50 year old about to be 51. Hey ho ... Transition brings new treasures.

It's not something I would have an issue with personally. Age is just a number usually and I've dated younger in the vanilla world and the sex was amazing.

There could be a connection issue though as there's a lack of common ground sometimes. When I first went to swinging clubs in my 20s it was all about the sex. Now though, I know sex is infinitely better when I can connect with the others, especially if it's a more intimate occasion than a club.

Interestingly, why would you want to play with the old bogeys? Not to say you shouldn't want to, just wonder what the appeal is to you.

It’s more about attitude than age, for me. Which means I wouldn’t rule anyone out for being younger (or older).

I’d be less likely to approach someone if there’s a *huge* age gap, just because it seems less likely we’d hit it off. But never say never. There’s always people who aren’t what you’re expecting, right?

I prefer women older than me because I find that women my age or younger, in my experiences, tend to be quite immature. Of course the caveat with that is a lot of the women that i’m attracted to, tend to not be interested because i’m young enough to be their son. That is completely understandable as if I was a lot older than I am and I had a daughter in her twenties, I would never go for someone around the same age as her!

I don't have kids and co I'm still knocking around the football leagues, I'm mixing with a range of ages.

A few make me think twice as a rule.

One, holding a convo with some is hard. It's a different language and a bunch of different circumstances.

Two, some are still very young looking.

Three, I'm not sure many are ready for swinging and kink.

All are massive generalisations and I'm sure there are those that buck the trend.

I had a fling with a much younger woman when I was in my late 30s. I dunno exactly, but I was probably 37 and she was only just turning 20. She was amazing, and we were so very into each other. Sexually very compatible too. But at some level I had a hang up about the age gap. Being almost twice her age.

For me it was about being at different points in our lives. She was ready to explore the world, I’d already done that. She wanted to go out all night, I wanted to go home and cuddle on the couch watching movies. She needed to build a career, be ready to move cities for the right opportunity, I was successful and settled.

So I broke it off. And broke her heart. (She’s awesome, by the way. We’re still friends a decade later.)

Maybe I shouldn’t have. Maybe she was the one and we would have been great together. I’ll never know.

But … none of that relationship stuff - none of my reasons for that age gap being an issue - none of that is relevant if we’re just talking about swinging. About sex and friendship.

Personally speaking I'm not sexually attracted to anyone of a similar age to my daughters.

Therefore it is completely irrelevant how intelligent or mature they may be and hence why my filters are where they are. I adjust them every year so there is always a 10 year gap between my kids ages and my lower filter.

I'm normally quite happy to chat to anyone on here regardless of age or attraction but had to block anyone outside my filters because I got too many messages from those looking to "try" an older man.

It's a bit both ways, we wouldn't for a minute think that an early twenties couple would find us either attractive or interesting. Quite broad brush I know and there will obviously be exceptions to every rule but in general ten years above and below increases the odds of meeting mutually compatible people.
