My parents have always had a camper as long as I can remember... took me around Europe for a few months in a bay window when I was about 5.

I'm finally succumbing to the desire.

What have you got, Fabbers?

I've been window shopping and sizing up the damage.

Does 200w solar provide a decent amount?

I was looking at videos of people with induction hobs and the electrics to run that alone seemed insane.

I had to sell my LWB T5 last year. Gutted. I’m looking at microcampers and boot jump options because I miss it so much.

Ermm... that's slightly more than a camper. Hotel on wheels.

My folks are touring around Scotland now and they've commented a few times that tentboxes (the ones that pitch on top of your car) seem obscenely popular.

Duster has a boot jump kit but it’s not really an alternative to a camper.

I really want one but they’ve become so expensive I can buy two static holiday homes for the price of a 2nd hand camper in the UK

Absolutely they’re not - I can’t justify two vehicles when it’s just me and I work from home. Plus as you say, they’re shockingly expensive! So it’s a short term compromise at least until my mortgage payment drops in a few years 😂

I've just returned from 10 days in Europe in my van, it's just a 2008 transit SWB that I've put a hammock in, so not very luxurious, thinking of building a frame to put a bed on.
