Are you low maintenance or high maintenance??

Do you think other people would agree with your assessment?

What do those phrases mean to you??

One of my cars is low maintenance. I can rely on it to get me from A to B, whatever the weather. I drive it daily. I respect that car.

One of my cars is extremely high maintenance. It’s a beautiful pain in the arse, and every journey is a high-risk, high-thrill gamble. I love that car fiercely but drive it very rarely.

I’m not sure where I’m going with that metaphor, because it’s the opposite of what low/high maintenance means to me with Fab friends.

A high-maintenance friendship needs nurturing with a lot of attention. Whether that’s forum chat, messages, or even just fabbing their latest photos. Someone who questions themselves (or me) if they don’t hear from me in a couple of days.

A low maintenance friendship, erm, doesn’t. And it’s no less intense or lust-filled because of being more chilled.

.

I haven’t answered the questions. D’oh.

I think I’m low maintenance, on here. In person though, when we’re together, I need your full attention. Would people who know me agree? Dunno. I hope so.

I don't need maintaining like a household appliance or a car. I want someone to be with me in a way that we mutually enjoy. I don't demand attention, if I have to ask for it i know they don't really want to give it.

All over

Not easy to answer as sometimes people confuse maintenance with standards. Some of mine can be considered high and don't mean justvpeople but things. Like for example I much prefer a nice meal out to a quick grab at Greggs if that counts.

High maintenance means to me someone who requires constant confirmation that they're loved, appreciated or found attractive.

Low maintenance is someone who doesn't

In relationships? High maintenance. I like to be and feel adored. It makes me feel cherished. Although I think find the right partner for you and all that it is automatic. But sometimes you occasionally have a relationship with someone and it feels like if there was a house fire they’d prioritise their wallpaper over you.

Otherwise? Pretty low maintenance. I’m generally chilled out and happy. My anxiety is under control so I run on an even keel these days.

To me high maintenance means someone who demands the best and won’t settle for less.

Low maintenance - happy to ride the “see what happens and where it goes” train.

I can be low maintenance as in I don’t care about places to go/eat/drink etc- I am just as happy lying on the grass chatting or eating a meal deal- but it has to be the right person.

My skincare routine is reduced to pharmacy/supermarket moisturiser and makeup. I keep my liquids in a Ziploc bag, much to horror of my colleagues.

I have all sorts of accesories, going from a little £7.99 H&M bag I carry around the world to a Birkin that will never leave my house, haha. I love leggings and trainers.

I am high maintenance as in I know my worth and I want time and effort spent on me. Because I always give my best in time and effort.

I'm pretty low maintenance if we're talking attitude and demands. Before meeting Buff I had very little and managed on little. I still have little but now do get my hair and nails done. I make no demands on him and our first argument was when he wanted to buy me a pair of jeans. I just wanted his love, not his bank balance.

Not much has changed really.

I am perceived as high maintenance by others. Especially in terms of aesthetics and expectations.

I consider myself low maintenance. I know my worth. I make no exceptions for those that don’t see my worth. I am fiercely independent. I am happy in my own company. I don’t depend on others to enjoy experiences, materials possessions, or otherwise live the life I live. I am logical and level headed.

I think I'm low to medium.

I use skin/hair products from high street stores.

I enjoy good food and wine, but that can be a hone cooked meal/picnic/ local restaurant. I'm not into fancy restaurants or wines.

Clothes from high street stores including charity shops ( I do like a bargain).

So above I would say low.

Below is my medium.

Nails are done monthly.

Hair is cut regularly.

Do treat myself to beauty treatments.

So I think I'm mix, but I do scrub up very well

"Is there a school of thought that low/high maintenance is to do with how expensive someone’s tastes are?

Yes, in some societies. Really beautiful girls are deemed high maintenance as in they will require loads of money to upkeep their hair, nails, makeup, luxurious designer clothing and accessories, meals out, etc. The idea is seen, in such societies, as a woman who a man can only access her pussy by maintaining her level of financial needs to meet her appearance demands. This isn’t a sugar baby/daddy arrangement but an expectation of having the prize of being seen with this beautiful lady on your arm but everyone knowing she’s high maintenance — a high cost to maintain in her beautiful state.

I’m fairly high maintenance so I can be low maintenance. I get my nails done every 3 weeks, and brows, lip and chin threaded 4 weekly to save me having to do them weekly. If I’ve got quite a few things on in a row I’ll get my lashes tinted and lifted to save on having to use mascara.

In terms of relationships, low. I like to be the focus of attention when we're physically together. I want you to be off doing your own thing and occasionally checking in when we're not.

In terms of aesthetics, I probably look otherwise, but also low. I don't do hairdressers, but I fix my roots at home every couple of months. My nails are always done, but I do them myself. My makeup is a simple lipstain. My wardrobe is all easily slipped on or off. I take less time to get ready (including showering) than most men I know.
