What are you really, really passionate about? What is it about that thing that really tickles your pickle?

For me, it’s opera. I adore the beauty, the romance and the drama. The music is sublime and in itself is full of passion. I live in a world of motorways, factories, industrial estates and industrialisation. Puccini playing in the background takes me away from it all and when I can I love a night out at the opera.

What’s your pickle tickler?

The written word, in general. The way language can be moulded and toyed with, utterly transformed into something unrecognisable but only effectively so if you truly understand it. I love etymology, discovering how words and phrases came to be. The way certain words feel in your mouth or ears.

Nature - from certain coloured flowers that bloom at the time of year that their attractable insects are in their prime….

To how even a dying animal feeds an entire ecosystem…

To big predators and prey.

Elton John had it right with the circle of life.

I’m passionate about food, drink, theatre, scents, health & social care, motorbikes, dogs, bees pottery, museums, history….

I love knowledge & living life.

I make even myself a bit nauseous to be fair.

Reading, a life long passion. Used to work in a second hand book store and loved talking books with customers.

Up to recently would have said the kink scene, being involved helping out, helping people with their first steps.

Cinema, another life long passion and one of my main forms of escape.

Pub quizzes. Been on various teams down through the years and uses to run my own. My monthly quiz night is one of my main social with friends and one of the highlights of month, even if we do do well.
