My nan’s spare room.

For me it’s definitely Sean Connery, followed by Daniel Craig.

Timothy Dalton gets a mention because his screen plays went all awry.

"David Niven."

I was waiting for that. Poor choice, comic film but can’t be considered the best.

Don’t get me wrong, I love David Niven but not as Bond.

Does Neil Connery in O.K. Connery count?

I rather liked George Lazenby's bond, he should have done more.

All ways Sean Connery then Daniel Craig. Heres a fact when they where planning for the filming of Dr no Ian Fleming was actively pushing for David Niven to be bond

I really enjoyed Pierce Brosnan but I think it's probably more to do with who's Bond when you're a kid?

couple, us we him her.

I really liked Timothy Dalton.

His intensity came at a time when audiences probably weren't ready for it also the writing was still pretty cheesy.

I think given a better script and maybe ten years later he would have been far more popular.

So difficult to rank them as it changes often.

Connery and Craig are joint top place.

However, I do like the Lazenby Bond as he was close to the way Fleming wrote the character, bit of a misogynist cad..

Yeah same. I used to always say roger Moore was my favourite, as that's who I watched when I was a kid but going back the comedy is a bit too much.

I agree with this although I think Daltons version is the closest to the books.

"David Niven.

From what I have read, he is closer to Ian Fleming's vision of Bond (from a gentlemanly, suave and witty viewpoint) than any other Bond (although Roger Moore comes pretty close as well).

I always thought, real spy work was more like "Slow Horses" or "Smiley" than whizz-bang explosions and stuff. As exciting as those may be, I think for a movie to be taken seriously and authentically, it should have a certain verisimilitude about it.

(Not that Casino Royale 1967 with David Niven was any better in that regards, it was made deliberately as a comedy and spoof for some odd reason).
