Would you meet someone

Jump to newest

That refuses to show their face even though you’re both clicking and enjoying getting to know each other.

Would you refuse to meet on the basis of attraction or would you go with the flow and meet anyway?

Reading the OP again it's on those who refuse to send a face pic. I expect if I'd have asked people would have sent me their face it's simply I didn't ask for it - I can't remember if they asked for mine or not. I'd probably get reservations if I asked for one and they refused.

No, I wouldn't.

I need to like someone's face as well as feeling a connection to them.

Id never expect anyone to meet me without seeing my face either.

I had a man say to me years ago, that I didn't need to see him for a social, I just stopped chatting. It would be really awkward if you then met and didn't like what you saw.

I think I'd be more concerned about why they were unwilling to exchange face pictures. In 2024 I find it hard to believe that someone can't snap a selfie, particularly if they've managed to set up a profile and come across well enough to get to the potentially meeting stage.

As a woman, a man being unwilling to share a photo raises a lot of red flags, none of them signal a good or safe outcome for me.

Not willing to send a face pic is a pretty big red flag and I would be very wary of meeting someone without a full photo of who they are. I have done it in the past and it has worked out ok because of phone chats etc but I certainly wouldn’t be travelling far or spending any money on hotels.

Yes. I don't meet people just to have sex with them so physical attraction is irrelevant in many cases.

Some would argue that means I'm happy to shag anyone but the exact opposite is true.

I don't share face pics unless I've already agreed to meet someone and if they have an issue with that they are more than welcome to move on to someone else.

I have broken my own fab rules about face pics first once, as I happened to literally be going past the end of their road and was happy to swing by and drop in for a cuppa and a hello with them both, as a spur of the moment thing. Thankfully that worked out well.

Otherwise, yes please I’d like a face pic.

And if I’m travelling, then a video call too.

I am someone who prefers not to share face photos until the meet is definitely happening. So I would still meet (have done in the past) the other person as I can understand the reasons why people may not be happy with showing their faces on here or through the chat. Also, there is nothing stopping the other person from sending the pic that shows them in the best light, has been filtered to death or is an old one. So as long as we get on well through messages, and we're meeting somewhere public, yes, I would still meet them.

No, my thoughts are if you aren’t swapping face pics then there’s only two conclusions - you are hiding from someone or you know the chat will end once pic sent.

Although I’ve arranged a few blindfold meets for C and she’s not seen them until afterwards. Although I’ve seen pics of them beforehand as I know her type.

No way would we meet without seeing a pic first.

Also those that send pics were they are 'worldies' and unbelievably good looking he will do a a Google pic search thing to see of they are just using other people's pics.

If this shows nothing but we are still feeling unsure we will ask them to send a pic were they touch their nose with the little finger on their left hand. We'd explain why we would ask this, because we think they are unbelievably good looking. If they fo this then great, if not we've lost nothing.

But defo...no blind dates.

I only show my face when a meet is the next step.. I'm pepper in a sea of salt here so I stand out more than others by default

Just because you get along with someone it doesn't mean you should fuck - chemistry is way more fickle.

No because if you're meeting at a neutral place ie a coffee shop you need to know who you're looking for!

"Quick update: arrangements were made to meet for coffee, she didn’t turn up "

Nobody will ever have this issue with me, my face is all over my profile. :P Means that if I'm not someone's cup of tea I get filtered out before I even send the first message, but that also means less time wasted on either side. :D

Nope. I show my face and ask for a face pic in the event someone sends me a message. It's only fair

This came up today funny enough, someone I chatted to didn’t feel it necessary to show his face before meeting because of it being risky. I think it’s more risky meeting without seeing a face plus my time is very limited so pics help rule out who you know are not for you.
