What small things make you feel good?

For me, it's the start of a new day, when the sun is in the sky, and I step out into the garden and see the birds flying high and the butterflies all having fun. It makes me feel so good to be alive. You know what I mean!

Waking up and having my first good morning kiss with my wife, usually with a nice snuggle. Sets me up nicely for the day.

Oh we are *insufferably* romantic. One time I was sent away for 2 weeks for work training. Not only did we do a video call every single evening, when I was on my way home my wife actually booked a hotel and drove to a town closer to where I'd been so we could reunite quicker. XD

I really like when my drink is at the right temperature. You know cold is ice cold, a hot drink is hot.

I also really like messages from friends and family and erm people.

I like smiling at random people and it's returned. Those little fleeting moments of human interaction are lovely.

I like when I'm reading a page and before I know it a chapter has gone past and I feel all happy and immersed in to a new world.

I love the very early hours of the morning when the world is quiet and I can sit in my garden and drink and just be for a little bit. No disturbances.

I like the smell in the air after a rainstorm.

I like the sun when it’s beaming down on my skin kissing me with its heat.

I love the sound of others laughing. Especially if I’m sharing in laughter with them.

I love the purposeful, skilful dancing some people can achieve with words. Not to be confused with mindless alphabet soups that leave you wondering what that fuck you’ve read.

I love the seaside: the saltiness of the sea, the breeze, the sound of the waves bashing back and forth, the endlessness of the sea.

I love the sound of heels across a wooden floor. Especially if it’s someone else that’s walking in them.

I love waking up way too early to catch a sunrise. The slow and at the same time sudden change from darkness to light. The stillness and quietness of that early hour.

I love the comfort of my solitude. Being alone. Thinking. Memories running through my mind both recent ones and more distant ones. The ability to just be. I do love the company of select people too but I find myself needing solitude after socialising too.

I love a cosy fuzzy blanket, cold to the touch but keeping warm. I wrap myself in them like a little burrito. It’s heavenly.

Although I live close to the beach here, it's a bit of a hike back up the cliff path, so I don't do it very often now. But when I lived in Greece it was a daily summer morning ritual to watch the sunrise, while having a dip in the sea. Happy days x
