Always buy Nike with the air soles for comfort for normal wear

For gym always adidas sambas due to flat sole with no heel

Airwalks. I spend most of my life in work boots so see little point in spending lots of money on trainers

Adidas or Converse for just walking about

I have a set of New Balance for running or going on the treadmill and I go again for my older kicked in Converse for weightlifting.

As someone that has own and collected far far too many, new balance are my jam. With a smattering of the early Air Maxes.

Lots of late 80s and early 90s stuff

Hoka, take a look at the Rocket X2 green/yellow they also just happen to be fast (for me). I just got a pair of the Cielo too, not convinced with the performance of thise yet, but again they look ace. Both shoes, the new colours aren't as appealing as last year's colours in my view.

"...got boxes of them everywhere "

That's the problem with running/triathlon. I have about 12 pairs, mostly different in some way. Training shoes, racing shoes, barefoot shoes, trail shoes...
