I used to be told or hear that you’re born with a certain talent

Do you think this is true or given the right training or diet or time or practice or whatever can you teach yourself anything up to a high level

Could we all compete in the olympics, play football or tennis or chess or be a chef to a professional standard (accepting the olympics now accepts pro and amateur competitors)?

No it’s not true.

Your life will likely reside in the fat part of the great bell curve of human potential.

However, you might be capable of rising to the top quintile in most of the other areas of life that really matter: health, love, impact, wisdom, wealth, joy.

i think if you love something enough and practice hard enough you will obviously get better at it - to be able to be megga competitive to win you need to also have the financial support to achieve it, getting the best coaches, going to the right venues to compete

When it comes to excelling at anything particularly sport genetics play's a massive part.

Then it's down to the brain and dedication.

But the talent needs to be there in the first place.
