Was having a conversation with a coworker today and she mentioned that the first thing she looks at when meeting guys is to see if theres a bulge in the trousers…

Usually look at their feet to see what pasties they’re wearing.

Sure it’s been proven to be a natural reaction if you find someone attractive.

I've noticed them, but I don't stare.

On public transport they're often right in front of your face, so you can't miss them.

I prefer faces, but it's illegal to stare on trains now.

I never notice bulges but I’m straight so I’m always finding cameltoes. It’s like my life is a walk through an Arabian desert in the second century

"Weird world

If a man stated to a female co worker that the first thing he checks out on a woman is her vagina to see if it’s noticeable I’m sure there’d be all sorts of HR issues being raised

But if this is true it’s okay for a woman to do it "

Some people talk about harassment only being harassment if the harasser is unattractive. While I don't agree with that, I can see why (some) men would be more ok with it than the same number of women.

Unfortunately there's this idea that women displaying sexuality in public isn't to be taken seriously, because we can't be a threat, while men can. It's sexist and patronising, and means women can get away with a lot that we shouldn't.

I completely agree with you: all of it. As a man who isn't ok with it, because it can be a trigger, it's something very difficult for me to talk about - and my experience is that it isn't usually received well when I try - so thank you for making that point.

Do I notice every man’s bulge? No.

Have I looked at a random man’s bulge? Yes. Never stare at it though. Usually on the Tube or similar. It’s practically in your face and unavoidable.

Honestly, it's sometimes hard not to notice when one is seated at wheelchair height and you're at close quarters, e.g. in a lift. I try to avert my eyes because let's face it, 99.9% of the time, it's not something I WANT to see or have near me. Ditto builder's bum situations or anyone's bum in my face.

I notice women looking at mine. It's funny, they usually put their head down then look to the side
