Resistance training, Boxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Cycling, Calisthenics and a lot of walking (Average 50-60miles a week).

Combine all that with my job and it keeps me in shape.

I have to be careful about doing too much though. Physical burnout isn’t fun.

Jake: weights six days per week. Run once per week. Boxing once per week.

Becky: snatches gym sessions and runs as and when she gets time/feels like it. She usually exercises three or four times per week.

It tends to neglect the upper body though. I really ought to think about doing something to maintain upper strength and mobility.

I do pole twice a week, during summer I generally swim twice a week and do a home strength routine on those days and go to the gym twice a week.

When the water is too cold, or if I need to change things up, I run or cycle instead of swimming.

Last time I answer one of these, someone took the time to message me and said 'don't lie you don't work out' so if people could avoid that, I'd be grateful.

You know, it's taken time but I'm at peace now with the fact that I'm bigger than I used to be but I'm almost 44 and I don't have the time to do the volume (or intensity) I used to do. As long as I'm enjoying what I do, that'll do for me.

I'm feeling very slovenly as had to skip most of my routine this week because of work and feeling very depressed about it.

But in normal times, it's gym 4 times a week and weekly 5-a-side with the odd game of tennis whenever I can fit one in! Lots of dog walks too, but they never feel like exercise.

Body weight exercises mainly. I don't lift heavy weights after 2 spine surgeries.

One legged squats, push ups, pull ups that kind of thing.

Cardio wise I go on a treadmill I have. I'll put ankle weights on and run at an incline so I get out of breath quicker.

Also I'll do a long all day circular hike in the middle of nowhere about once a month.

About a 13 or 14 mile one.

I'm trying to make most things from scratch these days too. Even bread.

-I have a theory that diet maybe even more important than your workout.

That’s my problem. Other than a couple of weeks off I’ve been going 100% for 2 years. I’ll switch to the bro split for 12 weeks and lower the volume and see how I feel before going back to PPL.

The best physiques are born from the most boring routines

I’ve never strayed from PPL as it allows me to target different groups 2-3x a week!"

I just need a few more rest days at the minute. I’ve made the best gains doing PPL but I’ve pushed a bit too hard recently and now my body is giving up on me.

Somewhere

Gym 4 times a week, upper lower split. Max 9 sets per week for for each big muscle group, legs are split into hams/glutes and quads, with some calf work thrown in. Max 9 reps per set to failure or within a rep or two of failing. Cardio on my off days on spin bike at home.

"Push, pull, legs, push, pull, legs, rest.

It’s worked pretty well over the last few years but I’m starting to get some niggling injuries so going to switch to a 4 day bro split to get a bit more rest.

PPLPPL is brilliant isn't it. But deloading and scaling back volume every now and then is crucial.

That’s my problem. Other than a couple of weeks off I’ve been going 100% for 2 years. I’ll switch to the bro split for 12 weeks and lower the volume and see how I feel before going back to PPL.

This.

I’m part of the 5x5 full body 2/3 day a week crew. Throw in some body weight stuff to help with my grappling and I’m done.

For me I believe a well balanced diet is more important.

At eight o’clock in the morning, I’ll have fish and a rice cake. At 10 o’clock, I’ll have fish. At 12 o’clock, I’ll have fish and a rice cake. At two o’clock, I’ll have fish. At four o’clock, just before I train, I’ll have fish and a rice cake. I’ll train and I’ll have me fish and I’ll come home, have some more fish with a rice cake and then have some fish before I go to bed and that’s it for the day.

A nice rock

Gym twice a week.

And try to keep as active as I can in and out of work.

Controlling what I eat is the biggest factor on what particular body shape I have at any time

I have a year round training plan, currently in power phase. Run 3x week and just Jitsu twice a week. I really fancy doing hydrox.

Keep a readily strict diet during the week, a medicinal whisky on a Friday and cheat meal on a Saturday.

I run 2/3 times a week. I climb mountains and go scrambling when I can. I dance, stretch, press ups and pull ups every or every other day.

Sometimes I can be sitting for long periods and I'm terrible for driving to the shops! I love wine. So rather than being slim and super fit I have a balanced squooshy and active into an average fitness level.

I'd love a fitness partner to encourage me be more proactive.

Cake and wine... When I did gym/run/swim. I've never had so many injuries. Less through bad form, more through turning an ankle walking back after a jog, slipping on a wet pool side floor. It's safer on the sofa

Lately I’ve been at the gym 5-6 days a week. Usually a 40 min run everyday, followed by strength training and circuits.

Play squash a few times a week and cycle when I can be bothered.
